The Week in Review

May 6, 2018 by WendyB

In case you missed it, here’s what was on the blog this week.

  • Tuesday, May 1:  Snakeskin is back, and I have to dig up a photo of my shiny snake-pattern pants from the late 1990s.
  • Wednesday, May 2: In this week’s YouTube video, I talked about how I changed my career and what you should keep in mind if you’re considering a big switch.

  • Thursday, May 3: Byron Lars has been a favorite designer of mine for a long time. Thanks to him — and my designing friend Stacy Lomman who recruited him for a class she was teaching at FIT — I’ve been introduced to an up-and-coming designer, Emily Omesi.

Thursday’s post was overflowing with content because Emily’s work inspired me to put together my dream outfit for tomorrow’s Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The theme of the event and exhibition is “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.”

You can learn why I chose these pieces on the blog; buy the locket and tiara designs on 1stdibs.com; and request more information on my Jonah and the Whale Maneater ring through my website. For detailed shots of Emily’s dress design, check out her Instagram. And check back here tomorrow, because I’ll be announcing my Best Dressed/Wear What You Want award winner for the Met Gala.
