I’ve got to interrupt my series of gun-control posts for a hot second to send a birthday shout-out to my gorgeous friend Lola Mitchell, aka the legendary rapper Gangsta Boo. I’m so sad I couldn’t celebrate with her in L.A. or Memphis, but at least we got to hang out in June. Not only that, but MrB and I got treated to an acoustic version of Boo’s “Crazy Lover” collab with singer Christina Castle. The video is dark and blurry so just close your eyes — as I obviously did while shooting this — and listen to Boo’s highlarious verse!
Earlier that night, Boo and I were trying to figure out how long we’ve known each other, and I’ve nailed it down thanks to the blog: I got in touch with her in December 2011 because I wanted to send her some jewelry.
