MrB had been asking me for a while what I wanted for my birthday — which was yesterday — as well as the holidays. I kept saying nothing, and that was before we tried to save Purrkoy the kitten’s life last week. After that, I wasn’t in a particularly celebratory mood, and I figured those vet bills were a gift and then some. So, when I saw MrB toting a large shopping bag to our family dinner last night, I thought, “I’ll just return that later.” Then I unveiled this.

Omg! When I said I didn’t want any birthday presents I meant it! The money spent on trying to save @purrkoy_the_kitten was enough of a gift. But then this arrived and look! It has little Purrkoys on it. 😩 #birthdaygift #louisvuittonxgracecoddington #louisvuitton #surprise
This is from Louis Vuitton’s collaboration with cat-loving Grace Coddington, and as you can see there are gray-and-white kitties like PK on it, plus orange kitties like FitzRoy. I have to keep it. It is, as one of my “Catstagram” friends called it, “Purrsekoy.” (Unfortunately, MrB did not buy it at Purrgdorf Goodman, but look! I got in the pun anyway.)
Thank you, MrB. You are the cat’s pajamas. And it’s no coincidence that that expression sprang to mind just now considering that my Christmas gift to MrB was the dog’s pajamas. To be exact, I got him and Edward the dog matching pajamas. I’m not kidding!
Here’s what I wore to dinner.
Dress: Vintage Jacques Tiffeau (acquired in 2009; see it through the years here)
As you can see, it was a “slow fashion” kind of night until MrB let the cat bag out of the bag! I hope everyone who is celebrating a holiday (or birthday! or anything!) gets everything their heart desires, including the things their heart didn’t desire but loves anyway.
