Gloria in Alaia

February 6, 2010 by WendyB

I met fellow jewelry designer Gloria at a dinner party. When she came in, everyone stopped chatting to admire her exquisite Alaia coat.

I asked her to hold out the coat's skirt so I could get a better look.

I was hoping our coats would get mixed up in the closet so that she would get mine and I would get hers, but no such luck.

ohhhh, I totally identify. I’ve been craving such a coat since one started going out on dates with Nick Rhodes. …okay, so the lady wearing the coat was dating Nick Rhodes, but you know what I mean. πŸ˜‰

(see web link for images of the coat being wined and dined at all the best London parties by Mr Rhodes)

Nubia, I have a jewelry sale on Feb. 10, a non-fashion-related fundraiser to chair on Feb. 13 and the IFB conference on Feb. 15. If I make it through those I just want to hide for a while.

That is one glamourous lady and one gorgeous coat! Sure beats my long black horse blanket number that I’ve been wearing day in and day out on the school run! I’m bored with the cold. Bring on the sunshine already! Any you’re so right about the Reiss dress… I know I’m going to have a sleepless night about it tonight… and sweaty palms… and itchy feet…

I’m 99% sure I’m going to be buying another bauble from you soon! Just have to figure out which one is “appropriate”!
