Living on the Edge

February 24, 2009 by WendyB

Browns has some edgy designs from Boudicca and Gareth Pugh on sale.

Boudicca shirt with batwing sleeves
Now 140 pounds, down from 460.

Gareth Pugh paneled, zip-front dress
Now 255 pounds, down from 505.

One of you avant-garde fashion bloggers definitely needs to get the Gareth Pugh jodhpur sweat pants. There are a few of you who could make these work.

Now 130 pounds, down from 255.

Unfortunately, Boudicca’s crazy/fabulous Wode perfume isn’t on sale. When you spray on Wode, it comes out as a bright blue mist, which then fades away.

Wode “paint” perfume is available at Browns for 65 pounds

I love the Boudicca line for being named after a warrior queen and producing this jacket. But I’m a little sad that the name now feels off-limits for my Vivat Regina (Long Live the Queen) jewelry collection. I suppose that I could pick one of the many alternate spellings of Boudicca’s name if I became so inspired that I couldn’t resist her. However, I don’t think it will come to that because I have more royal ideas than I can currently turn into jewelry. Coming to my line later this year (but who knows when): Madame Royale.

Oh I could give you Welsh and Irish heroic women of the same vein as the Briton leade Boudicca. They have amazing stories…
You need a book translated into English called the Mabinogen.

Hmmmmmm I can never get on board with all this avant-garde stuff. It drives me insane. But the perfume sounds interesting! I want paint-perfume!

As for New York – I literally just decided last night that I would go. Perhaps I will hunt you down in the capital of the world?

    1) The dress looks a bit like a scuba suit but in the best possible way! So sleek.

    2) Thanks for the history tidbit with the link to Madame Royale!
