The Third Dimension

January 22, 2009 by WendyB

Yesterday, I posted about some of my 3D designs. Here’s another. The gold Hatshepsut Locket is set with diamonds on both sides, so you can wear it either way. This photo shows the locket open and closed.

If you want to invest in an ounce of gold, this is your chance. The Hatshepsut might be one of the heaviest pieces I’ve made and I’ve made a lot of heavy pieces. I previously posted a picture of me wearing the silver version of the necklace to give you an idea of the size. Here’s the official photo of the Hatshepsut in silver, again showing the locket both open and closed.

They’re both incredible. I love the gold on the omega chain, and the silver on the black cord (that is a cord, right?). These are so sculptural, but not too heavy to wear.

The 3rd grade version of my brother would be so happy to realize he’s not the only one who finds Hatshepsut fascinating. Unfortunately, this information will come years too late, after beatings by bullies and the social ostracization have taken firm root.

Is it heavy enough to double up as a murder weapon? THen you could at least be dying in style…

On a lighter note, this reversible thing is just so fantastic because my necklaces are always swinging the wrong way round. Fabbytastic! x

Your jewelry truly is amazing. I wish I could use it in the editorials I am styling in Norway! About the pic: I think the iphone is better for that than a regular camera. Just hold it steady and try to place it in front of your face or neck. I also find it better to stand a little further from the mirror and zoom if you need to. Have a wonderful weekend!

Hehe I still remember when you bringing the locket along with you to Pio Pio and showing it to Mark, Bob, and me. And now there’s a gold and diamond version…very nice indeed.

I adore that screw type connection for the rings, they look beautiful 🙂 And I love the name of the lockets, I actually bought a book on Hatshepsut the other day, she was a remarkable pharoah, if one can really even call her that.
