Hello, Gorgeous!

June 7, 2008 by WendyB

Still love these shoes. They’ve gone on sale since I first noticed them in April.

If you wear a 40 or a 41, you can buy them here.

If you’re not the right size, you can console yourself with this hilarious post from Grant Miller.

Speaking of shoes, I’ve been getting a lot of use out of the Nine West gladiator wedges that are now mandatory for all fashion bloggers (I believe you need to pay a fine if you DON’T wear them).

The buckles seem likely to rip the crappily made ankle straps to pieces by the end of the summer, but I like the look. Looking for some REALLY inexpensive gladiators? Try here.

UPDATED with a list of bloggers who have the Nine West Heech wedges. (If you’re not on the list but should be, let me know in the comments.)

Anna, that definitely counts! You are excused from the fine.

If anyone else wants to identify themselves as the owner of those wedges, I will add your link to this post.

Hmmm…could your blog be the real reason for this announcement at Nine West, WendyB?

    “Heech, ships 6/19 & 7/3 $89.00
Due to incredible demand, we have re-ordered and will receive new shipments of this shoe on 6-19 and 7-3. Get on the list and pre-order yours so you don’t miss out on these extra deliveries. This style was recently featured on NBC’s Today Show and Nicky Hilton also recently scooped these up. Get one of the hottest trends of the season with this must-have gladiator sandal with buckle detailed ankle straps on 4″ wedge heel.”

    I certainly think so!

Glad you enjoyed the coming in of the fleet–I’m thankful that the water that doused me good was not the colored water, though.

Those heels look so cool. I don’t own any gladiators sadly because:

    a) there are none available in any stores where I live.
    b) it costs quite a bit to ship them here and I am beyond broke.
    c) I have very large feet and therefore it’s very hard to find ones that fit.

Actually those are the main reasons for all shoes I haven’t been able to get.

Btw, thanks for your lovely comment ! Would you like to link?

thanks for the link! I’ve added yours 🙂

Those zip-ups would be really fast on and off.

I don’t have those Nine West shoes. What’s the fine? Should I be scared?

  16. WendyB says

    June 7, 2008 at 8:00 pm

Uh-oh. ENC is in big trouble!

Yes, actually they are a blogger must have! I bought a similar pair from Zara 🙂

Gawd, how high IS the fine? Maybe high enough to justify buying those myself!?

  19. Grant Miller says

I have a pair of those shoes, but don’t consider myself a true fashion blogger. Cool?

The Barbara Bui heel in a size 40 are calling my name!

  21. WendyB says

    June 8, 2008 at 10:51 am

Grant, you have to pay a fine for that. Sorry. Fashion bloggers only.
    Iheart, get them!!!

Michael Kors makes similar zipper sandals. They don’t go as high on the leg though.

Diabolina, I don’t already? How neglectful of me. I will fix that immediately.

God, you’re right. I have the Heech sandals in brown. I love them, but I have to say that they do put a lot of pressure on the ball of the foot. Maybe I’m just used to a little bit of a platform.

I apparently did not get the memo, as I bought the gladiators with the wooden heel in the best shade of blue. I will have to start a protest movement, I suppose…or be an honorary member? http://a-lineskirt.blogspot.com/2008/06/sandals.html

  27. WendyB says

    June 9, 2008 at 12:16 pm

Uh-oh. Kaili didn’t buy the wedge. Now she has to pay a fine.

  28. Material Girl says

    June 9, 2008 at 3:00 pm

DAMMIT, WendyB, I fell in love with those Barbara Bui heels instantly and thought “ooh, I’m sometimes a 40, maybe these are the answer to my gladiator prayers”…and, of course, they are now sold out. LE SIGH.
I’ve loved the Heeches forevs, but when I wear 4″ heels I’m 6’1″ (you’ve already heard me bitching about finding good ones that aren’t so high). Maybe I’ll just have to suck it up, get them, be tall and love it. Thanks for always keeping us in the shoe loop, dear!

  29. WendyB says

    June 9, 2008 at 4:13 pm

MG, I say get out there and represent for the super-tall chicks in your high heels!

  30. market says

    June 10, 2008 at 8:51 am

uh oh… I may have to pay a fine. I bought these Calvin Klein ones instead, and I haven’t even worn them once since I got them over a month a go… Should I return them?

Wendy, if you are contemplating it you should defs invest in some Urban Original shoes-I bought 4 last week and they are all magnificent! I will post on them soon. Also, you look like PJ Harvey in that Marie Claire Street Scene. Beautiful.

    i have them! and i’m a fashion blogger… i think. i don’t know sometimes.

  35. Leslie says

    June 21, 2008 at 3:21 am

I have them, but I still have yet to make a post about them. Damned bitches gave me the biggest blisters ever to grace my big toe. But I suppose it was partially my fault, running up and down stairs and walking around for three hours without sitting once.

    We’re good now.
