Kaleidoscope Eyes

May 10, 2008 by WendyB

Want to go psychedelic like me? For those who don’t “do” vintage, See by Chloe’s trippy dress is on sale at Neiman Marcus.

$338, down from $520

Don’t wear it with those shoes, though.

Speaking of vintage style, the New York Times (registration may be required) has a great story on Suze Rotolo, the cutie who was on the cover of Bob Dylan’s The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan album.

I always like album-cover info, and Suze sounds like an exceptionally cool lady. She didn’t take any shit from Dylan. Plus she’s still really open-minded. Here’s the last paragraph of the story.

Still, she is not nostalgic. “All this indulgence of the ’60s, ay-yi-yi, get over it,” she said. Every era and place hold magic for people willing to live intently in them, she believes. “Everything occurs again, just differently,” she said. “There will always be creative people who feel that they’re different and create a community of some kind. Whether it’s a physical neighborhood or an Internet neighborhood, in Bushwick or in Greenwich Village, it’s not over.”

First thing I thought was “not with those shoes.” Too dark.
