Back From the Glencoe Festival of Art

July 31, 2019 by WendyB

Whoa! I think the past week was the longest break I’ve taken from blogging in 12 years! I was preparing for the Glencoe Festival of Art in Glencoe, Ill., — my first outdoor art festival. Then I was at the festival, and then I was recovering from the festival!

I am battered and bruised from lifting heavy display cases.

Thank you to my gorgeous sister Terri Berry for driving in from Indiana to help me schlep stuff around.

Thank you to my sister @terricribb for coming to #glencoefestivalofart and being my official schlepper! We are not twins but people ask us that so much that I’ve decided it’s easier to say yes. #sisters #thankyou #onceiwasaschlepper #nowimmissmazeppa #glencoeartfestival @amdurproductions

Thanks also to gorgeous jewelry designer Shamila Jiwa gave me so much great advice and encouragement and loaned me a beautiful tablecloth. Caitlin and Amy of Amdur Productions were not only incredibly organized; they’re also babysitting my heavy glass display cases until the Fine Art Festival at Oakbrook Center in September.

I’ve got three of these display cases.

And, as always, thank you to Judith Boyd of Style Crone for being the face of Wendy Brandes Jewelry. The signs featuring Judith stopped (pedestrian) traffic constantly and got so many compliments that I might sell Judith posters instead of jewelry going forward.
