This week’s video is about the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s November exhibition called “Jewelry: The Body Transformed.” I am extra-excited about this show because I have strong feelings about jewelry as art, of course. Check out what I have to say!
Sorry about all the reading from the book from the Paris jewelry exhibit, but it meant so much to me to get a serious analysis of jewelry as well the sexism that influences attitudes towards it now. I was totally emotional walking through the French exhibit, so if you see someone sniffling in front of a case at the Met, come say hi to me.
Also, in the video, I mentioned the masses of jewelry worn by members of the group Migos without showing a photo — oops! — so here is one now.
The Met exhibit opens on November 12. Don’t miss it!
I have to make a trip to New York to see this!
