Thinking of Kyrzayda

September 7, 2018 by WendyB

I’ve met many fascinating women through blogging. Sometimes I’ve been lucky enough to get to spend time with them in real life, while others have remained good email/Twitter/Instagram pen pals for years. Then there are those that I follow enthusiastically even though I haven’t had the pleasure of making a personal connection. Kyrzayda Rodriguez is one of the latter. I’m not much for looking for new clothes these days, but I’ve spent hours scouring sites like VICI because of her.

Sharing a personal message I got from one of my HS best friend. I keep reading it to remind me I have the option to fight, we all do. The eagle is the bird with greater longevity among these species. He gets to live 70 years, but to reach that age, at 40, he must take a serious and difficult decision. At 40, his nails are tight and flexible and he can not take his prey on which he feeds. Its long, pointed beak curves, pointing against its chest. Their wings are aged and heavy and their feathers are thick. Flying is already so difficult! So, the eagle has only two alternatives: to die or face a painful renewal process that will last 150 days. This process consists of flying to the top of a mountain and staying there, in a nest close to a wall, where there is no need to fly. After finding that place, the eagle begins to hit its beak on the wall until it is able to pull it out. Then he must wait for the growth of a new one with which he will detach one by one his nails. When the new nails begin to grow again, it will begin to pluck its old feathers. After five months, he leaves for his renewal flight, and to live 30 more years. In our lives, many times we have to protect ourselves for some time and begin a process of renewal to continue a victory flight, we must get rid of customs, traditions and memories that caused us pain. Only free from the weight of the past can we take advantage of the valuable result that a renovation always brings. Kir I know that you are that eagle 🦅 and I know that very soon you will start your flight again. Love u !!! PC @lydiahudgens #fyoucancer #lotd #ootd

Kyrzayda — who just turned 40 — has gone through a lot both physically and emotionally since she was diagnosed with gastric cancer last year, but she never stopped slaying the fashion game.

She’s being kept comfortable in hospice now, and I just want to say that I’m thinking of her often, even though we’ve never met. I also keep returning to two photos she recently posted of herself with her adorable granddaughter (yes, Kyrzayda is one of the youngest and most gorgeous grandmas ever). Kyrzayda has treated her followers to hundreds of beautiful images via her Instagram and her blog, but the great love in her eyes puts these pictures in a class by themselves. (Also, how cute is it that they’re both repping Gucci?)

My queen, my friend, my lama lover. My favorite person to bicker with, my sweet angel now in heaven. I will miss you with all my heart with all my soul. I can’t even explain to you the loss I’m feeling without you here. I can’t even begin to think what I’m to do moving forward without you just a phone call away. All these memories of our time together are passing through my mind, so many favorites. Why lord why so little time, I wanted a lifetime more of friendship so much we wanted to do so many places she wanted to see. I will always think of you babe I will always cherish your light in my life. I will always love you and never forget you. May you Rest In Peace Kyrz. Te quiero 😘 #youinspireuskyrzayda | I ask of everyone who loved kyrzayda the way I do to please respect my privacy and her families. We are mourning the terrible loss we are all facing and all I want is for everyone to remember all the greatness that kyrz brought into this world. Take all the inspo And all the knowledge she hates with us. Let’s remember our sweet angel for who she has been to each and everyone one us.

RIP, Kyrzayda.

I recommend checking out the #YouInspireUsKyrzayda hashtag on Instagram to see pictures of people recreating many of her outfit photos … they all look fabulously chic.
