Wednesday’s Video: My Next Speaking Gig

November 1, 2017 by WendyB

Initiatives in Art and Culture is an organization devoted to educating diverse audiences in the fine, decorative, and visual arts. Its 19th annual Fashion, Jewelry and Design Conference takes place in New York next Friday and Saturday, November 10th and 11th. I’ll be on a panel called “‘With This Ring…’ The Changing Landscape of Commitment” on Saturday. Other speakers and panelists include designers Zac Posen, Ralph Rucci, and Jason Wu; Alexander McQueen jewelry collaborator, Shaun Leane, and fashion icon Daphne Guinness; and models/activists Bethann Hardison and Ebonee Davis.

The conference’s theme is “White: Palette, Prism, Possibility.” What does that mean? IAC’s founder and president, Lisa Koenigsberg, was kind enough to visit my office and chat with me about the conference for this week’s YouTube video.

As I mentioned in the video, you can use the code WENDYB when buying tickets to the conference and get a VIP discount. The tickets include two full days of panels, a reception at Shinola’s flagship Tribeca store, and the chance to network with high-achieving artistic people. (I’m hoping to get a selfie with Shaun Leane and Daphne Guinness.)

I’ll have a few more clips from my conversation with Lisa coming soon!
