Wendy Brandes Heart Ring on JCK Online

February 10, 2017 by WendyB

A huge thanks to Amy Elliott of JCK Online for including my Vampire Diana ring on her list of unique heart designs for Valentine’s Day!

The Vampire Diana ring. Click to purchase.

In her introduction to the photo gallery, Amy wrote:

“Are hearts the most exciting thing happening in jewelry right now? Of course not. But just because they have powerful commercial appeal, especially in the context of Valentine’s Day, doesn’t mean they’re tragically basic.”

Damn straight, Amy! There’s no need to be “tragically basic” (LOL!) because it’s all about how a designer interprets a theme. There’s a badass heart design out there for everyone, even for the people who say, “I hate heart designs.” I know my more rebellious customers soften up when they see this anatomical heart earring.

$35 for a single silver stud. Available in gold upon request. Click for more info.

People who avoid “cute” at all costs have been known to give a short-lived side-eye to my Juana la Loca heart locket …

Hmmm. Maybe I’ll put this on sale in honor of Valentine’s Day. You’ll have to click to see!

… but once they’re shown the ruby-eyed skull inside the locket, they perceive the innocent-looking outside in a whole new light.

If you order right now, I can get this to you for Valentine’s Day!

The Vampire Diana heart ring that Amy singled out was inspired by my enduring affection for the bad-boy vampire Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Appropriately, it was recently worn by supermodel Bella Hadid in vampire-princess cover shoot for Paper Magazine.

The Vampire Diana’s 18K yellow gold heart is pierced by a “wooden” (actually silver) stake that can be pulled out … just for murderous fun.

The #WendyBrandes Vampire Diana ring is 18K yellow gold, with a removable sterling silver "stake." Perfect for #VampireDiaries, #Buffy, and #Twilight fans looking for a little luxe. Or as @thejewelryaltar pointed out around Valentine's Day, a punctured heart could be the ultimate #statementring for a happy divorcee! #LoveGold #instavideo #video

I used to do a silver version of this ring — its stake wasn’t removable.

The silver Vampire Diana modeled by blogger “Beautifully Invisible.” Click for original post.

I sold out of those rings long ago, but if you’re feeling stabby on a budget, I do have one silver Vampire Stake necklace left. The stake is the same design as the one in the gold ring, right down to the wooden “grain.”

$130. Click to purchase.

It’s a great layering piece, particularly with skull necklaces.

On model Tina J, paired with a Memento Mori skull and crossbones necklace.

Anyway, back to hearts and my belief that there’s a heart out there even for the least hearts-and-flowers person out there — the same applies for other traditionally romantic purchases such as wedding gowns and engagement rings. If you’re convinced that no wedding gown or engagement ring can thrill you — that they’re all just too damn basic — you just haven’t seen the right designs. I can easily create an engagement ring that’s unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.

Not exactly a mall-jewelry-store engagement ring.

While I’m at it, I can hook you up with someone who can make you the customized wedding dress of your Gothic dreams. For engagement ring and other inquiries, holla at me at info at wendybrandes dot com. Let’s create something crazy together!
