Style Icon: Bianca Jagger

September 17, 2014 by WendyB

Shout out to New York Magazine’s The Cut blog for putting together this great slideshow of Bianca Jagger’s looks over the years. (Bianca was Mick Jagger’s first wife, in case you don’t know!) Highlights include several examples of Bianca’s famous white pantsuits; her entrance on a white horse at Studio 54 for her 1977 birthday celebration; head-to-toe red sequins; and a belly-baring outfit for a Madonna concert party in 1987. I covet the fierce boots Bianca is wearing here — they look like the embroidered Golos I’ve always dreamed of. Also, I like seeing that, in recent years, she’s worn favorite necklaces more than once. A chunky coral torsade necklace made appearances in April 2011 and September 2012, while a horn design was photographed in September 2010 and June 2011. But my favorite is shot is definitely this one of Bianca and Mick dressed to impress in St. Tropez in April 1971.

Clearly, Lady Gaga or Rihanna didn’t invent crazy-costumed sidewalk strolls. I love so many things about this photo: The obvious attention-seeking, for one! Plus I always appreciate a dude who isn’t afraid to express himself sartorially. And check out Bianca’s boots again! I want all her old shoes.

She had such a great look! I thought Mick was wearing a fur skirt at first and I loved it!

I love how Mick is dressed more crazily than she is.
