The Return of the Butt Bow

November 16, 2012 by WendyB

I haven’t seen a butt bow that’s rocked my world for a long time, but I just spotted this 1984 Yves Saint Laurent on 1stdibs.com.

You know a butt bow is going to be great when you can see this much of it from the front. (Click to purchase.)

DAMN!

Size matters. The YSL definitely outshines my own Guy Laroche butt-bow dress.

A lolWendy from 2007. Click for original post.

However, the winner and new champion of the butt-bow fashion stakes is clearly my new niece, Sabrina Berry.

Sabrina and BarbaraB.

Born fashionable!

Too adorable! That BB couldn’t be anything but fashionable coming from such a lovely family.

Oh, stupendous! In comparison, whatever your butt bow may lack (only slightly!) in amplitude, it more than makes up for in placement.

Lovely that Sabrina Berry is already a fashionista – so lucky to have such a cool trailblazing auntie as you!

I can’t claim credit for the baby’s bow. I didn’t give her that little ensemble. But I am impressed that my father is such a dedicated blog reader that he took a picture of Sabrina and sent it to me with a note that said “butt bow!”

As a lover of 80s fashion, I do love a good butt bow, but not necessarily one that reminds me of the Mos Def song, Ms. Fat Booty, in which he describes the girl as having “an ass so fat you could see it from the front.” I think probably neither BBs or asses should be big enough to see from the front. Which means your niece is doing it exactly right.

I do like Beyonce’s butt bow at her I Am… World Tour by Thierry Mugler. Nothing beat Beyonce’s butt: http://www.beyonceonline.com/sites/beyonce/files/imagecache/555_wide/photos/IMG_4224.jpg

That one would cushion her nicely if she continued that backward trajectory she’s on!

You look gorgeous in that 2007!
I like the YSL dress, it just so happens to be that navy blue and fushia are a couple of my favorite colors.
That’s an adorable little but bow on your neice babies can get away with wearing anything
