Vuitton Collaborates With Yayoi Kusama; WendyB Freaks Out

January 9, 2012 by WendyB

I fell in love with polka-dot-obsessed artist Yayoi Kusama after the New York Times ran a story about her in 2008.

Kusama, from her website. Click for source.

Today, Louis Vuitton confirmed Women’s Wear Daily’s November report that Vuitton’s artistic director, the often-naked Marc Jacobs, is collaborating with Kusama on products that include leather goods. They will be in stores in July (right on time for our anniversary, MrB!). Now I know how Apple fanatics feel when a new iPhone comes out. I’m ready to go stand outside a Louis Vuitton store for half a year to make sure I get my polka-dotted handbag first.

I’ve always have a weakness for Vuitton’s special collaborations. Here are two of my special Vuitton bags. As you can see, the dogs love them too.

Henry the dog with my Stephen Sprouse bag. Click for original post.

Gigi the dog with the Takashi Murakami Cerise bag.

This news makes me almost forgive Marc Jacobs for that SpongeBob tattoo of his. I said “almost”!

Never mind the bags,I want Henry & Gigi. I’ll take them without handles. Gorgeous.

You can have them … this morning Gigi barfed all over the house. Henry got something stuck to his tail and got very angry with me when I tried to help him. Naughty dogs!

I swear, what’s next? Vuitton should collaborate with that guy (I forget his name) that hangs around the tents season after season wearing those crazy suits that he makes — polka dots and wild patterns head to toe!

Not a bad idea! I know who you mean.

Which dog will get the marvelous privilege of posing with your new purse? That’s what I’d like to know.

Maybe I’ll have to get a new dog in honor of such a great purse. LOL! Or how about my stepson’s new kitten? She’s a very talented model.

Oh I love her work – there was a Kusama exhibition in London a couple of years ago and I bought a polka dot ball – if you don’t get the handbag, I’ll let you have it!

I like the polka dots and Cerises bag but the dogs steal the show.

I want to see Alyson’s polka dot ball too.
