What Wendy Wore This Weekend: Celebrating the Undead

June 27, 2011 by WendyB

Once again, I’m thankful that gorgeous blogger and bossypants Jennine from The Coveted told me last year to post more outfit pictures. It comes in handy when I’m working on a couple of complicated posts only to realize it’s Monday and I’ve got nothing ready for publication. But wait! I wore something! Instant post. I bet Jill Abramson, executive editor of the New York Times, wishes she could get away with this kind of content.

I went out to dinner Saturday night, which gave me the opportunity to stalk midtown Manhattan like a ghostly tiger.

What Wendy Wore:
Dress: Vintage Clovis Ruffin
Shoes: Prada (2011)
Bag: Louis Vuitton (2001)
Necklace: My own Queen of Scots design
Skin: Untanned

I don’t remember what year I got the Clovis Ruffin dress from eBay. When I first blogged about it in 2008, I said that I wore it to death. It’s a zombie dress now. It’s gone way past death and is barely hanging on to some kind of unpleasant, falling-apart afterlife. There are lots of pulls and the fabric has a strange, flimsy feeling. My deathly pallor goes well with a zombie garment, doesn’t it? I did a spray tan once and sweated it off in the gym in a day, so that was the end of that for me.

Continuing the undead theme, Sunday night was dedicated to watching the season premiere of sex-ay vampire television series True Blood with my gorgeous food-blogging friend Tina. She made red velvet cupcakes for the occasion (True Blood-watching food always has to be red), and I wore the “I (Bleeding) Heart Eric” t-shirt that Tina got me for my birthday in December.

What Wendy Wore
T-shirt: HBO Store
Rings: My own Gravity and Vampire Diana designs
Cupcake: By Tina

If you’re a vampire lover and don’t have your WendyB vampire jewelry yet, get it now. Like I’ve been warning you, all jewelry prices are going up. Pieces that were last priced in 2009 or earlier will likely double. I’ve finished calculating the new prices for my store catalogs, so I’m ready to change all the prices on my website next. But I’m going to give y’all two more weeks to buy at the old prices. Act now or regret it forever. And if you’re a vampire yourself, “forever” is going to be a really long time.

Vampire Diana ring. Click to buy for $495.

Vampire Diana necklace. Click to buy for $450.

Vampire stake necklace. Click to buy for $95.

Remember how hot the ring looked on Beautifully Invisible in my June 4 post?

You know you want it. Just get it. Don’t make me glamour you!

That’s “falling apart”? Well, “ghost tiger,” it seems to be holding up well in that photo. 😉

And no worries about being untanned; I’m that way, too. It’s how I stay “forever” young… tee-hee.

Argh!! I had ladyboy as my anti spam word which has thrown my comments. I can’t stop laughing, not that you look like one in your dress – that dress is haute!

the deathly pallor (it isn’t by the way but I’m continuing the theme) is all the better to show off the re lips, hair, dress, jewellery & those gorgeous Prada shoes.
    xx

The tiger dress looks great, and perfect with your skin and the fabulous accessories. That dress is a ‘keeper’ for decades to come.

My anti-spam word was “bacon.” Which I think goes well with red velvet cupcakes.

I’m all for deathly pallor. My skin glows in the dark. Being ultraviolet has its advantages, though: fewer wrinkles.

When I lived in NYC, we called that a “Manhattan Tan” and it was a badge of honor. Plus it made my dermatologist happy.

I didn’t notice the zombie dress. Too busy being glamoured by your shoes. Sigh.

Perfect way to wear such a great animal print dress – less it be the focus. You look great! And I LOL’ed when I saw “Skin: Untanned”. Awesome. 🙂
