Gorgeous clothing designer/blogger Stacy Lomman and I had a joint meet-and-greet with a number of magazine editors, stylists and bloggers on Wednesday. It’s important for journalists to see my designs up close. Even the best photos don’t convey the beauty of jewelry the way seeing a ring on your own finger does. And Stacy’s clothes complement my pieces nicely.
Stacy wore her own designs, of course.
I opted for a pair of Versace pants that I hadn’t worn since 2008. You can see my jewels displayed behind me.
What Wendy Wore
Sweater: Alexander McQueen (possibly from 2004)
Pants: Versace (also likely from 2004)
Boots: Prada (2008)
Necklace: My own Queen of Scots design
In 2005, I went to a strip club while wearing these pants. No, I was not stripping! I was hanging out with some lady friends. Guys kept coming up to me and saying, “I like your pants” and trying to buy me drinks. I thought that was a strange financial decision. Here you are at a strip club. Give $20 to a stripper and she’ll bounce around topless on your lap. Buy me a $20 drink and you get a whole lot of nothing. Well, perhaps I’ll smile in your direction and, I must admit, my smile is priceless. Maybe it makes sense after all.
stacy says
What a great event! Thank you my generous friend for having me join you 🙂 And all of your readers should know that this photo I snapped of you doesn’t do you justice. It’s really difficult to pull off patterned pants like this… you need to be skinny minny!
WendyB says
Every time I see a picture of me in these pants, I don’t wear them again for two years!
stacy says
I’ll remind you so that you don’t forget about them!
Actually, they looked extra hot with your shearling.
fashion herald says
Stacey, you are so right, that is a gorgeous but unforgiving cut, and Wendy looks amazing in them! And you and your dresses look fabulous!
Fab At Any Age says
Loving the look of Stacy’s evening wear and you look fab in black and white!
howard says
meet and greets with editors and cool pants at strip clubs – you and stacy are my kind of girlfriends!! … so that’s where they have all been hiding…NYC. 🙂
Julia, the Thanksgiving Girl says
I agree with Stacy!! It’s not easy pulling off pants with such a bold plaid print – you look gorgeous and thin!
mystyle says
Hi my dear! I hope those trousers were your lucky charm, they look fabulous and hopefully they’ll have generated a lot of future jewellery sales for you!!!
Make Do Style says
Those pants are fab! Love the strip club story – just goes to show the reveal is never as exciting as the what might be!
Susu Paris Chic says
The seventies are coming back… and you know that! Of course.
Collette Osuna says

I adore those pants! They look absolutely fantastic on you. Adding wide-leg pants to my want list right now…
Elizabeth says
Your smile lights up any room, and is worth far more than a paltry $20/drink or no.
Elizabeth says
And congratulations to Stacy on her meetings!
Maddy says
Why wouldn’t they buy you a drink, you’re hot stuff!! I bet the strippers were glad when you left the premises so they could have their $20 tips back ;o)
Rebecca says
Those pants are fantastic.
That's Not My Age says
I always think it’s better to keep your clothes on in a strip joint! Sorry I missed you in NY – maybe next time?
Laura Connell says
She’s good: I love that jacket. I have the identical mirror behind you in my living room! The pants accentuate your great figure. That’s why the dogs were sniffing. ie., not cos they’re into fashion.
patni says
I adore those pants Wendy. I have a ridiculous collection of loud plaid pants. My favorite pairs is magenta and emerald green D &G jodhpur thingys. I am short and short legged and not that slender. I should not wear plaid pants, and I DO NOT CARE. They make me feel good.
You however should wear them all the time. They look awesome!
WendyB says
Please tell me you have a pair like Michael Hutchence wore in the Elegantly Wasted video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2SRrUGW5Gw
patni says
o my. No I do not. I have a pair that are close but are blue and tan. However now i have a goal and goals are good right? Michael Hutchence pants in 011.
Sally says
Clearly, those pants are not only gorgeous and flattering, but also magical. Magical drink-generating pants.
Miss Janey says
Looks like Wendy B is wearing a crown. Queen of All Jewels.
lisa says
Hahaha your closing paragraph was priceless. 🙂
Susan Tiner says
Stacy’s clothes are beautiful. And you my dear, look fantastic in those pants. Would you like a drink?
WendyB says
Send over a bottle of something nice for me and my friends!
The Preppy Princess says
You look awesome in those pants Miss Wendy, very chic and professional, I love the outfit on you. 🙂
Sending you a smile,
tp
Tina Tang says
How did the meeting go? Stacy’s clothes are fantastic! And, where is the signature WB pose with crossed legs.
WendyB says
We tried it…there was a cameltoe issue!
Emma at Daily Clothes Fix says
You make me laugh so much. Your smile is priceless (featuring the best lipstick too). And I agree with Tina – you are branching out on the poses. I was rather shocked.
Love Stacy’s suit too.
K-Line says
You two are so fabulously dressed. I love Stacy’s jacket and those pants are fantastic.
Allison says
Stacey’s jacket is amazing and your pants are not only fabulous but magical in that they generate drinks!
Lexie says
I love your strip club story. Of course your smile is priceless! 🙂
alixrose says
HAHAHA! That smile totally is worth a few 20 dollar drinks. I love the pants – just another example of somethings never go out of style.
Carly says
Love love love those pants. They are a never giveaway/throwaway/consign type pant. You look adorable as always.
and the necklace is perfect with the fit.
Hope you have an amazing weekend.

devilishly pleasurable says
I love your pants. . no wonder the men rather buy you a drink 😉
it’s the charm and rarity of a ‘commodity’ that makes everything seemingly defy economic sense
Terri says
I like the pants…but trying to fathom the message they were sending…
Ofelia says
You look so chic! A great pair of pants over a fake pair of boobs! Those guys were smart!
The Style Crone says
And your jewelry is beautiful too!
EJ says
Oh, if only the mirror was slightly higher and to the left and you’d have a halo (there’s an idea, would you ever be tempted to make someone a halo? Not sure how it would float, but I’m sure you could work something out.)
WendyB says
I’ve yet to get a request for a halo, but if I did, I’d probably get thrown for about a minute and then start working on it, similar to when I got the request for Mud Flap Jill http://wendybrandes.com/blog/2009/04/two-jills/
