eBay Pick of the Day: Ossie Clark Sweater

May 25, 2009 by WendyB

I haven’t seen many vintage Ossie Clark sweaters. I recently posted about the only one that I own here.

Not my favorite photo

Well, right now, on eBay, there’s an Ossie Clark cardigan with very similar detailing to my sweater. That means that if you get it, we could wear them together and be twins!

Click the photo to go to the eBay link

If you’re an Ossie fan, you definitely need this. Also, this cardigan should be the Holy Grail for people who generally love old, gray sweaters. I know a few people like that. Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it. Anyway, there are four days left to bid. If you bid, don’t forget to snipe, or I’ll be disappointed in you.

I tend to be drawn to grey sweaters, though I wouldn’t say they need to be old! I love the ruffles and the tiny flower buttons. I may bid, the bonus of possibly being your sweater twin is too enticing a prospect!

Denise (still trying to figure out how best to sign in here!)

Wow – WB I’m tempted, just to be twins! (And because I’m a sweater addict, like with a problem.) I may email you about how this all works. I’ve never used ebay and the sniper thing scares me…

since I don’t win Ebay auctions I don’t think I’ll ever have a chance to be a WB twin T_T. Such an awesome sweater though.

You must not be sniping, Miss Woo! You need to snipe!

i really love ossie clark but I don’t own any of his pieces. I went to Ressurection last year and saw this long green maxi dress with spiral black sleeves and it was so beautiful but it was also 3 grand. and EBAY is always hit or miss.

Ooh I saw that and wondered if it was the same as yours. I bought my own ultimate Ossie jumper fairly recently, quite sexy for knitwear (Alas, the weather hasn’t really been chilly enough since I purchased, so I’m still waiting to wear it) so I might leave this one for someone who doesn’t have any Ossie knits yet.

Coco, every time I try to add it up, it turns out there are some in storage, some loaned to people for study, etc., and I get frustrated and give up. I’d say 30 pieces at least, and one of these days I’ll try to do the definitive count and post on them!

I can’t knock it, you’re describing me!! I love grey sweaters. And p.s. you look lovely in your Ossie Clark one…

Arrrgh, you’ve actually tempted me to sign into ebay and potentially bid *fingers crossed bidding has ended*. I don’t need another grey sweater, but I can never stop myself.

    So errr… thanks? 😉

  32. Tina says

I need an old, gray sweater, preferably with holes. Perhaps the neck detailing qualifies…

Gosh great cardi what’s not to love – and yes your jil sander ones are fab. You are such a high heel guru! Mine were of course flats (no choking now) and I’ll be making more of an effort to get some soon.

Sorry but I’ll leave the gray sweater for eBay people….I’d rather buy the cherry red Ossie number from Shrimpton vintage online.

Jordana, gray sweaters are clearly inspiring people to great heights of humor. I laughed out loud at, “How did you know?”

SwanDiamondRose, you are too kind! Yet, at the same time naughty for encouraging me to spend more money on Ossie.

Shin, you’d really be able to bond with some of my friends over that. I know people who are addicted to gray sweaters!

Belle de Ville, my only problem with Shrimpton Couture is that she has so many great things, sometimes I can’t make a decision.
