I Heart Valentine’s Day

February 3, 2009 by WendyB

Wendy Brandes Jewelry has lots of heart-themed jewelry that will make anyone’s Valentine’s Day perfect. If you are one of my beloved blog bitches, or related to one, email me at wbjewelry at hotmail dot com and I will give you a special, bitchy price on any of my heart pieces, including the Diana Necklace and the Cleves Ring in silver, shown below.

All designs © Wendy Brandes

Here are the rest of the heart pieces: Diana Ring (silver), Diana Ring (18K yellow gold), Diana Ring (18K rose gold and diamonds), Diana Necklace (18K yellow gold and diamonds), Cleves Ring (18K yellow gold) and the amazing Sophie Twisting Heart Necklace.

To give you an idea of the size of the Diana Ring, here’s gorgeous client/blogger Susanna modeling her silver one.

Susanna always has a nice manicure.

And let’s not forget something for the man who wears his heart on his sleeve: 18K gold cufflinks!

Speaking of shopping, I got an interesting email last night from Neiman Marcus about a new return policy. No more keeping something for six months and then returning it for a full refund!

I will be really jolted if Zappos.com changes their generous return policy. I love them for giving you a full year to return items, but I’ve often wondered how they managed it from inventory and accounting perspectives.

Oh, and speaking of returns, I don’t take them! I am a small business and I don’t carry enough inventory to allow returns.

That heart ring is GORGEOUS. If I wore any rings at all, I’d buy that one and wear it.

Six months seems reasonable (time to get in and out of rehab a few times) but this is not the time to be reducing customer service.

That’s interesting about the change in returns policy. Looks like everyone’s making ‘adjustments’ in this economy.

The Diana ring is stunning. Stunning.

30 days is generous enough!!! i dont know why companies go further than that!!

Duchesse, if you don’t have good cash flow, though, belated returns are a real problem. Also people take shameless advantage of return policies. The folks who wear something out and then return it disgust me.

-h, isn’t that nuts? What do you even do with the inventory after a whole year has gone by. Send it to a liquidator? My guess is that they’re going to have to stop doing that. If sales are down, getting surprise returns a year later can really mess you up.

Other peeps, glad you like the jewelry!

A gazillion years ago when I worked at Nordstroms in the training program they told us stories about people coming in to return tires and Nordstrom giving them a refund even thought they have never sold tires. There was another story about a woman coming to the cosmetic counter with two bags. The lady handed one of the bags to the sales person and said she wanted to return it. The sales person asked what she paid for it. The customer told the SA the amount and then realized she had handed the SA bag with her lunch in it. Nordstrom was going to take a return of a lunch. I am SURE they don’t do that anymore.

^^i’ll never forget a woman trying to return the nastiest, oldest Donna Karan catsuit at Nordstrom when I was working there one day – so gross no one wanted to touch it.
I love the size of that Diana Ring, it’s beautiful.

Zappos sells their returns in their outlet stores and if you’re lucky to live near one (like me!) you can get some killer deals!!
