Trunk Show Thanks

November 19, 2008 by WendyB

Thank you to all my gorgeous customers and helpers* who made last night’s trunk show at Pink Elephant so wonderful. No thanks to T-Bags, the makers of a dress that I wore because I liked the colors, not realizing it made me look 10 months pregnant. I thought I only looked six months pregnant in it, so the pictures were a shock. (Especially since I am NO MONTHS pregnant.) As gorgeous blogger Diabolina would say: “F.”

Big, big, BIG thanks to my fellow jewelry designer Tina Tang, who came, stood behind my tables for hours and sold her heart out on my behalf. So much for Helen Mirren’s notion that all women are jealous of each other! Check out Tina’s silver jewelry here. Her gold site is here. I love the lips charm, but you all should inquire about her awesome snake ring in silver.

Thanks to gorgeous and charming actress Leven Rambin of TV’s Sarah Connor Chronicles for attending.

Wendy and Leven
I pointed a few pieces out to her.

I hope Leven enjoys her Pomegranate Peace Sign Necklace!

Another lovely lady who joined us was Jaslene Gonzalez, the winner of America’s Next Top Model Season 8.

Notice that she bravely smiles with her eyes despite the fashion faux pas next to her.Tyra would be proud! Jaslene is modeling my Cleopatra Earrings and Cleves Swan Ring. Swans are Jaslene’s personal symbol, as she is indeed very swan-like, so I hope she gets many years of enjoyment out of the Cleves Ring she wore home.

Here’s another picture of her modeling my new blue topaz and diamond earrings.

Stunning!

It was also a thrill to meet gorgeous blogger Pamela of Market Publique.

Pamela with her purchase and a hunched-over, 10-months-pregnant-looking lady.

If you didn’t get to come to the show and you’re interested in a piece, just email me at wbjewelry at hotmail dot com and I will give you the trunk show price. Remember, the show was a fundraiser for the Young Survival Coalition for breast cancer survivors, so please consider making a donation directly. Check out their website. While I’m feeling so charitable, you can also email me if you want the T-Bags dress. I will clean it and send it to you FOR FREE (I’m serious) as long as you post a picture of yourself in it! First come, first served. I’m sure it will look good on someone who is not me. A svelte, trained professional like Jaslene could totally rock it.

Tina looks like she’s confronting me over my fashion mishap.

*Helpers included GeorgeB, BarbaraB, MrB, the irreplaceable Shawn Love, Kevin, Kelly, Nathana, Bob, Caroline, Kate, Valerie, Chloe, Timothy of Pink Elephant, Michele of VINO Italian Wines & Spirits (I recommend the sparkling red!), Hadasah and Laurell.

UPDATED TO ADD: The dress is going to gorgeous blogger Sharon Rose. I look forward to seeing it look fabulous on her.

Wendy – great event post and sorry yes but 10 months pregnant all over is not a good look and obviously not you. Sharon-Rose is a very good candidate for show and tell.
I loved my ANTM voyeurism you afforded me!

Looks like the show was a blast! Those lips of yours matched perfectly with the dress, poor thing you hated it.

I wished I could be there, damn!

Congratulations on your show! I have to say you don’t look at all pregnant in that dress, just lovely – and when I was six months pregnant I was approximately the size of a blue whale, so I should know!

::giggle:: See, I’ve never been able to bring myself to buy one of those dresses because of the name. It’s childish, I know, but there you go. I do love the colors and I don’t think you look pregnant. You’re gorgeous, as usual.

Congratulations, Miss Wendy! It certainly looks like a star-studded event. I love those blue topaz and diamond earrings on Ms. Jaslene!

I think it’s fantastic that you had so many people offering support and goodwill, including another jewelry industry member.

Although I love the print, I do understand that if you *felt* you looked pregnant (which you didn’t), it might be nice to pass it on to someone else!

I’m afraid the T-bags dress would do me know favors either. Looks well suited to someone about 5’11” and 110 lbs.

I think you looked great in your dress and I can picture Sharon Rose in it too. It’s a perfect style for her!

If you sent me the dress, I would wear it and take a picture. Of course, that might be the main reason not to send it to me.

But that point is moot because you LOOK LOVELY IN IT.

I’m sure Charlie would love it but she’d have to fight me for it.

Aw, thank you TSB. These were the least offensive pictures of it. I always thought it was too loose for me but I was so swept away by the colors that I decided it didn’t matter. Than I re-decided that it DID matter.

I can’t wait till I reach the ‘Cleves Ring’ goal on my little diet thingy.

Oh, celebs and glam jewels galore! How I love living vicariously through you Wendy B!

Next time I’m going to hide in one of the compartments of your gorgeous rings and watch all the action from up close. Either I will have to shrink down very small, or you will have to design a very large ring. And seeing as though next week I will be gorging on stuffing and pie, there won’t be any shrinking happening soon…
