Curious

November 23, 2008 by WendyB

I’m wondering if the Lancome red lipstick/black gloss combo I mentioned and pre-ordered in August will ever arrive — since it is supposedly in Bloomies now — or if it will be a fashion phantom like the Christian Louboutin booties that surprised me by appearing after six months.

I’m also wondering why the lipstick’s name was changed from Piha Red to Aaron’s Red. Maybe the Lancome peeps are like me and just couldn’t make up their minds.

You see Wendy, thats what happens when you buy a ‘futuristic’ lipstick, they make you wait until waaay into the future to get it.

I’d call up Customer Service and keep banging till I get my purchases! These ones are too hot a look to be delayed!

I know we’ll be treated to a sensuous close-up of your lip-stick-and-gloss-clad lips, once the tubes comes in. Right?

As usual, I have thoroughly enjoyed catching up with your recent posts. WendyB, eclectic is thy middle name!

I keep calling to check on mine too but no word yet.

I keep moving in on my calendar.

I hope I like it after all this time!

    yeah it’s been a while isn’t it?

blimey.. it’s little to much if I think about it. buzz creation was fun then they should deliver in a reasonable time to keep that buzz going.. I thought. Are they being real dumb?!

wendy… i have that duo… from my trip to paris, and while the lancome people were really great… and aaron is an amazing artist… i have to say, that the duo is not worth the wait or the money.

i reaallly really wanted to like the duo, how he explained he was inspired my marlene dietrich mixing burnt matches and vaseline to make eyeshadow and the red is the perfect red from the bottom of a louboutin shoe…

he personally applied the duo on my face, and ten minutes later, the lipstick feathered, badly.

so, that evening i used my ol’ standby my loreal drumbeat red, which stays on through nuclear holocaust, but both me and garance dore used the black stuff on our eyes and it melted off both of our eyes, she looked like she was crying, i looked like zombie.

they may have changed the formula since it hit the market… and i really like the idea of the duo, but if i need to wear makeup for more than an hour, which is basically any time i go in public, i won’t use it.

I pre-ordered this too! So funny that you wrote about it – I was thinking about it last night, wondering when they were going to send the lovely combo! I hope we get it soon…

Hmm. Looking forward to seeing that on you. I tried out the black YSL gloss a couple of weeks ago and it was a no-go for me, but our coloring is completely different.

I’m wondering about this too. It seems like it’s been a really long time since you ordered . . . . I hope it comes, because I need to see this look on you!

NYT featured this in Sunday Styles. As someone who remembers the day when we rushed to wear pure white lipstick I don’t anticipate a long run for the black gloss.

Duchesse, yes, one of my links goes to that NY Times piece. That’s why I was wondering about it.

Jennine, I’m sad that you didn’t like it but I still laughed at your review!

Well I’m wondering how you possibly sat patiently waiting 6 MONTHS for anything, let alone a pair of CL’s???

That’s a fate worse than Chinese water torture.
