Go Batty for Halloween

October 15, 2008 by WendyB

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, and I have a new necklace design just in time. Check out my bat, who is keeping a watchful eye on you from his agate bat cave.

The necklace is $875. Since no two pieces of agate look exactly alike, each necklace is one-of-a-kind (so they’re not all going to look exactly like the photo). If you’re interested, drop me a line at wbjewelry at hotmail dot com.

I also have the bat by itself — as a necklace without the agate — in sterling silver for $315, or in 18K gold for $815.

My mother’s nick name is “the old bat”. She calls herself this and it has caught on. If I thought she would wear a bat necklace I would so get this for her. But, she is more of a pearls kind of gal. When you are an 80-something year old bat I suppose you can wear what you want.;-)

Soooo cute. I love the tiny little bat and how it contrasts with the agate. I never understood why people are afraid of bats when they are clearly adorable and they eat all the mosquitoes?

Wendy I ADORE your animal designs. Not to geek out too badly here, but did you use a particular kind of bat to model this dude on?

No, Sal, I didn’t, though I did mean for him to come out very realistically batty. As you’ll see if you enlarge the picture, his face is instead very batperson-ish. That was a mistake but when I saw it, I thought it was so funny that I had to keep it. So maybe he’s modeled after the Dark Knight breed of bat after all.

Halloween is one of (if not my) favorite holidays! I’d wear that way more than just on Halloween, though! This is one of my favorite pieces you’ve ever designed.

He’s so charming and funky! I love him quite a lot. And he’s definitely realistic. I love how the agate behind him really emulates the curves and grain of a cave…

Also, you should know your Word Verification right now says “butsux”

I love the little bat – we have them hanging all folded up like that in our trees during the day. At night of course it’s like there’s a riot going on out there…

That’s the cleverest bat design I’ve ever seen! I love that it’s upside down. The agate is a great touch.

wow, seriously that’s such a great piece. if only I had that much money to drop…

I love how the agate gives off the 3D cave-like appearance, and I’m pretty sure that’s what you had in mind when you made it in the first place. how genius!

So wait – the bat is inside the agate? That’s amazing! but it’s a shame because you can’t see the bat’s evil eyes…

  31. WendyB says

The bat is on top of the agate, he just looks like he’s hanging in a bat cave.
