Seven Songs Have Sprung

June 20, 2008 by WendyB

Gorgeous blogger Sharon Rose tagged me to share my “seven songs for spring.” Since spring is over in a matter of hours, I considered waiting till spring 2009 to do this. Procrastinating would allow me to figure out exactly what this tag was about. Am I supposed to share seven songs I listened to this spring? Seven songs that remind me of spring? Seven songs that put a spring in my step?

Could I possibly be overanalyzing this?

Here are seven songs I listened to yesterday at the gym.

  1. Personal Jesus by Marilyn Manson
  2. The Pretender by the Foo Fighters
  3. Misirlou from the Pulp Fiction soundtrack
  4. Shut Up and Let Me Go by the Ting Tings
  5. Bad, Bad Leroy Brown by Jim Croce
  6. Lithium by Nirvana
  7. No Scrubs by TLC

If you want to be tagged, let me know in the comments. You know my attitude towards these things.

You were at that taping? If I popped the DVD in right now could I find you in the crowd?

McGone, sadly, no, but only because I had the best seat in the house, directly facing Cobain (of course, since I was with the photographer). The people you see in the video are all the ones in back of him! Random factoid: I was sitting next to Kate Moss.

I order you to do 10 extra pushups for not listening to Depeche Mode’s version.

But, Raven, I was watching the video of the Depeche Mode version as well! Please don’t make me work harder.

(by the way I REALLY approve of your golden girls gang – I just need to find some spangly things….)

    Stef, oh noes!

ESD, thanks and thanks for not making me do the tag again.

Riz, LOL…what?? Kurt’s sweater? Looks a bit pilled, doesn’t it? Must be from J. Crew.

*goes away somewhere in order to get over being equal parts jealousy and squeeee-ing that Wendy ACTUALLY saw Kurt Cobain, LIVE*

Can I take this and turn it into Seven Songs for Spring/Summer?

I use that Ting Tings song in my Spinning class. People love it, and so do I. I also love “Pretender,” but that isn’t saying much, as I am a Foo fool.

I totally agree with you on “Lithium” being a great spring song. I’m not entirely sure why, but listening to it always brings me back to spring 1993 or whenever and walking to class and listening to my walkman. I’m such a goof.

and Leroy Brown is a mighty big bad ass.

    Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa.

YOU WERE AT THE TAPING SITTING NEXT TO KATE MOSS??????

How is this the first time you’ve mentioned this?
