WWWWDD? (What Would WWD Do?)

June 20, 2008 by WendyB

It would be fun to stroll around town in this strapless body stocking by Maison Martin Margiela.

On sale for $499 at eLuxury

One of you can tag along behind me with a video camera, recording everyone’s reaction.

UPDATED TO ADD: Huge thanks to Jen for pointing out that singing model Agyness Deyn wore this on stage just last week! How did I miss such a thing? Oh, and I heart Agyness, so go whine about her somewhere that’s out of reach of my beatdown ring.

OMG that’s hilarious. It reminds me of a classier version of a black matching tube top and skirt set my friend gave me with the word censored on it.

I get the feeling this would look even more ridiculously hilarious if your skin tone didn’t match the dress..

Didn’t agyness deyn wear this last week? I think she threw leather jacket on top of it. I dislike knowing this but to actually see someone wear it out was funny.

The caption says “on sale” but honestly I’m not quite sure which part of this is outfit and which part is accessory.

Is it a shirt and pants?

A short dress accessorized with arm bands and leg warmers?

Are those the Censor sunglasses or a real black bar?

The one thing I’m sure of is this blog entry is the best.title.ever.

If I were the model I would want my identity obscured too. Is that shadow around the skirt or just more unfortunate goings on?

Hey, I’m going to a wedding tomorrow. Now I know what to wear so that I won’t overshadow the bride 🙂

HA!! You would so wear that! You have to tell me why you heart Agy though at some point…I think I’m one of those who thinks she’s overexposed…

Riz, I like her because she was the first model to come along in years who showed any personality. I saw her in Milan once outside a show — I had no idea who she was besides “some model” — and when a photographer wanted to take her photo, she jumped into the air for him over and over again. No one else was doing anything like that. After that I paid attention. I find the whole “overexposed” notion to be kind of funny. We like people until we make them too popular and then we don’t like them anymore…because we liked them too much? WTF? Isn’t that just saying that we hate our own taste?

Probably cause we don’t get as much fashion inundation where I am, I don’t mind her. Annoying as her clothes may look sometimes, I can respect the fact that they’re her own. I think the ‘overexposed’ shtick comes around precisely BECAUSE she’s one of the few models to actually be a personality rather than just a clotheshorse. But she does carry off that bodystocking well…though the jacket probably has a lot to do with that 🙂

Designer with an edge. I am looking into buying one of his satin tote. His RTW is cool but I wonder how street friendly are they going to be. Though some of his stuffs are quite normal and still cool but wearable.

Here here Wendy B. Agyness just seems like a girl’s girl and a guy’s girl. Just good fun, and that story you just told in your last comment made me like her all the more. Yay for Agy!

I checked out the eluxury site and I *still* can’t tell what part is outfit and what part is accessory. Although the leggings are clearly in.

Best part of the advertisement? The last line of the description: “slim sillouette.”

    ORLY?

I want her miniature pistol necklace, which is the same necklace she was wearing the day I photographed her on Elizabeth Street (and the same necklace she wears in a lot of other pictures).
