Bloggers on the Brain

May 22, 2008 by WendyB

You fashion bloggers have so infiltrated my consciousness that the moment I saw this ’80s Yves Saint Laurent bolero …

$325 on eBay

…I thought of Queen Michelle and HER vintage, puffy-sleeved bolero.

Queen Michelle, ruler of Kingdom of Style

If this were an episode of Law & Order, and I were playing the schizophrenic suspect, this is the moment when I’d start screaming, “Get out of my head! Get out of my head!”

But I’m not a TV character and besides, Queen Michelle is very pleasant company, so I’ll pass on the screaming thing.

Mama says “Hi” back! Me, too, WendyB.

How about those eyeglasses? To me they certainly go with the bolero. I like how Queen Michelle manages to wear her prize bolero, too.

This orange bolero is quite a statement piece-I couldn’t have the nerve to wear it, as much as I love the 80s!!

Haha, I find myself doing that too. I see an outfit sometimes and say “That looks like something she would wear!” Funny, I tend to hate anything with overly accentuated shoulders but I do love Queen Michell’s bolero.

It happens to me too! (only much more rarely, I can’t imagine too many fash bloggers going around in bootcut jeans and polo shirts- the prevalent mode of dress in my immediate vicinity).
Love both boleros, but I must say I love the orange-boleroed young one’s glasses insanely. (I have a major soft corner for big glasses).

Before I even scrolled down to the photos of QM, I thought the same thing.

Blogging is in my mind as well. I try not to say it aloud because I still have friends who aren’t quite certain what blogging is and don’t visit any. So my obsession seems entirely strange to them.

The orange version is fantastic, but the black version is far more wearable. I’ve never come across Queen Michelle before, so I’ll have to go have a squizz!

I love boleros…not sure about the color. But I’m far from a fashion expert. I’ll leave that to you.

Oh Miss Wendy (re: your comment), you can stalk someone ANY time! Maybe you can start with QM 🙂

And I like your tall gladiator idea…I would commit some serious crimes in exchange for those ripped-up Givenchy ones.
