Sheer Madness

January 14, 2008 by WendyB

The last Marc Jacobs show I attended raised a lot of questions in my mind. First, I thought, “Why is this guy so late?” Then I thought, “Where does he get off acting this way?” Then I wondered, “Why didn’t I stay at that nice restaurant and have another drink?” Finally, I asked myself, “Who would want to wear sheer pants?”

Incoming! Sheer purple pants headed your way on the left.

The first three mysteries remain unsolved, but the answer to the last question is: me. A few years ago, I bought a pair of Versace pants with sheer lace panels on the sides. This is the only piece of clothing I’ve ever bought that my husband didn’t like. Well, there is also one vintage dress that he thought wasn’t sexy enough. He thought the Versace pants were too sexy. He claims he has learned to love these pants. Even if that is true, another question is, “Was it a little hostile to wear these to (yet another) party in his honor last week?” Don’t answer that! It’s better not to analyze some things.

No, you can’t wear underwear with these.
No, you can’t enlarge this photo.

Any other questions?

hahaha! Never seen anything like those before. As for Marc’s show, I have recently developed a fondness for all that sheer attire. Why? i have no idea…

Wow! Scandalous pants and yet so chic and I am drawn to them. Though the sheer pants on MJ’s catwalk belong on genies and in harems.

    Commando, Janey! I know! Scandale!
TCH, thanks for nothing, now I’ve got “Genie in a Bottle” stuck in my head! Oh noes!

If I want people to admire my underthings I’ll go out in my skivvies, I don’t need sheer pants to do it. Silly Marc Jacobs!

Your pants however are quite provocative in a lovely way. I bet your hubby demands those pants often.

    Although I’m sure they don’t fit him…

I would never wear this kind of pants, of course! I have no idea how Marc Jacob can find these ideas! Evnm the idea of choosing Victoria Beckam for his campaign

At least those pants aren’t entirely sheer a la Marc Jacobs/Unconditional/Richard Nicoll SS08….. I like the idea of them… though in practise, the tush and thighs ain’t quite ready for them….

Wow, the trews are cool, but what I’m really marveling over is your haircut. I never realized what the true nature of it was, as I’ve only seen you in your ponytail shot with the great ’50s-looking prom dress.

The pants are very brave. I hope one day I am given the opportunity to wear pants with as much style and scandal as those, and that I pull it off as well as you have. Haha.

hmmm…they’re not that bad. They are slightly overly sexy, but youve paired it with a low key top, now if you did it with a really sexy top and some crazy stilletos, then maybe it would not look so good.

    Underwear are overrated anyway.

  21. WendyB says

ENC, usually I just bring out the ponytail for parties. It’s a partytail! I really need a haircut right now.
Charming Heart, I like the phrase “pants with style and scandal.” It sounds like a good motto for a jeans line.

Marc Jacobs is a diva. There is no way about it. His runway shows can be made into practical use though- and he can be a nice guy.

I love your pants. The sexiness is awesome in a not so subtle way- But not in a look at my privates way either.

    xoxoxoxoxo

Cool….. some work places have “No pants Fridays…” and you took it one step further and went with “No PANTIES Fridays…” ha..ha.ha..

Honestly.. those pants ROCK!!! I love them.

I had a velvet dress that had the same sheer panels up the sides, which caused the same issues. No panties.. no problem.. no bra?? Oh HELL NO!! Not with my 34 DD’s!! ha..ha.ha….

Did anyone notice that the Marc Jacobs sheer pants are accessorized with granny-panties? So maybe it’s just a comfort thing.
