Jewelry in Black and White

January 2, 2008 by WendyB

Here are two of the four rings I wore on New Year’s in dramatic black and white. I’m amused because I’m wearing my two-stone Clemence ring with rock crystal and black spinel. Does a black and white ring shot in black and white equal “black and white squared”?

Here’s a clearer view of my diamond ring. I think I am going to take “hand model” off my mental list of possible future careers.

Oh, yes, WB, the life of a hand model is a difficult and dangerous one indeed! Consider all that must be avoided: bowling balls, tunafish cans, cereal boxes, and all doors with handles!

You’ve made the wise decision in avoiding it. I’d worry otherwise.

    Lovely rings!

Suzanna, you are highlarious. Remember the Seinfeld episode about George and the hand modeling?

Now everytime I see a close up of a diamond ring I’m going to analyze how the stones are arranged within the piece. Nice!

Stylin’, miss. I only wear one ring: a four-finger ring that says “Fresh.”

they are beautiful! black and white squared?! don’t get all miss smarty pants or the other hand models (who clearly don’t have your wit) will put a hit on your pinky fingers and you will never work again!

Spinel is the purest and most $$$ black pigment – they must be the same.
    Nicey-nice!

fun rings! i don’t like my hands for photography either, so you’re not alone! i make jewelry, too, but i dare not photograph any of it on me! lol. they look so much better on a bust or just laying flat.

I love black and white photos and yet, I am longing to see the colorful details of your lovely rings. Is that your motivation, are you trying to create longing? Well, it worked.:-)

I have been looking for the perfect everyday ring for months now. I got all puffy in the last several months and my fave ring no longer fits. It’s really sad!!!

You do have lovely jewels and hands, WendyB. If you wanna be a hand model, and you’ve got the gumption, go ahead and chase that dream.

Oh, come on now–you’d make a lovely hand model!
I am drooling over the black and white ring with 2 stones. Where did you get it? Or did you make it, and therefore where can I get it?!
    Happy New Year!

I made it! And you can get it by emailing me at wbjewelry at hotmail dot com. You know, three wimmins who know each other got that ring with two black spinels. I tried to encourage them to get something different but they all insisted on the two black stones. It’s nice to know a little sisterhood has developed around one of my rings.

Hand model hmmm. For some reason that made me think of “hand jobs” then I got the giggles and fell off my chair.

But since I went there, if you give a hand job wearing a diamond ring does this make a classier hand job thus commanding a larger fee?

Actually, most guys get all depressed when they realize that the lady is handling the hardest substance on earth…and it’s set in her ring.

Black and white squared! You’re a hoot, honey, a hoot! And naturally my mind just flew to the pattern in the majority of the fabric on your New Year’s Eve dress–black and white, well, OK, not squares but rectangles. What’s a centimeter here or there when one is going for it? A joining of terms, a jumping of synapses. You get my drift.
