Backup Dinner Outfit

July 22, 2008 by WendyB

Mr. B and I had to celebrate our anniversary last night because he has a work-related event tonight. I had outfit trauma while getting ready because I put on a vintage dress only to decide it needed alterations. This is what I wore instead.

T-Bags dress, previously seen here.
Dolce & Gabbana peep-toe booties, previously seen here.

Some of you might recognize that dress from the Sex and the City movie. Miranda wore the long version in Mexico.

Very pretty! I like your shorter, sleeved version better than the Miranda one I think. Very classeh!

Wow you’re good. When I suffer outfit trauma, I never rebound so quickly and effectively. It usually throws my whole night off.

Jules, I actually did feel “off” all night. I kept feeling like the shoes and dress didn’t go together.

Wendy, you have such a great smile. No coy, half-assed smirking … your smile just lights up your whole face. Oh, and the dress is fab, too, of course.

Aw, thanks Sal. But I always wish I could carry off some pouty, MySpace-ish, sexytimes expression. I don’t seem to have one of those.

    Great dress! Great shoes!
I’m so sad about Estelle Getty. How strange that she was younger than Bea Arthur.

“outfit trauma” *lol* Brilliant term for a well known phenomenon!

You did look perfection in spite of the drama! The nude shoes complement the vibrant dress so finely. And you have such a beautiful smile, I just love how effortlessly stylish everything about that picture is.

    Thank you, Ida!

Note to other peeps: it’s okay to use “effortlessly chic/stylish” … if it’s about ME! ME, dammit! Mwah ha ha ha!

Happy Anniversary to you and Mr B! Hope your dinner was as good as the dress! Green is the colour I’m wearing…green with envy that you have a (shorter version) of a SATC dress! x

oh, hate outfit trauma before the celebration. now that i think about it, i usually have a little breakdown before an important night out.

To the peeps who commented on Miranda’s dress — I think my style is a more flattering cut. There’s something a bit formless about the long version, isn’t there?
