Wednesday’s Video: Stephen Burrows Toga Party

April 24, 2019 by WendyB

When it comes to fashion, I’m much more likely to suffer from non-buyer’s remorse than buyer’s remorse. But there’s an exception to every rule. Behold, the gold toga (?!) by Stephen Burrows.

For more about this very important designer whose piece did me a bamboozle, check out:

  • His bio at BlackPast.org.
  • His 2014 interview with Fashionista.com.
  • His website.

And feel free to share your fashion misfires or gold-toga suggestions in the comments here or on YouTube.

Ha, that was fun, Wendy! I would style that thing up: layer a black turtleneck under it, do a skinny pant/jean and over-the-knee boots. I think it’s meant to have a piece worn under it, like a black solid coloured skirt or pant, not worn on its own. I love it, though! You should definitely wear it!

You have all the ideas! And I would LOVE to send the piece to you as a gift if you think you could really work with it! Let me know xoxo

I think Sheila figured it out ! I just saw her wear it and it’s all kinds of amazing.
