Today is #GivingTuesday, the charity-oriented antidote to the post-Thanksgiving shopping extravaganza. Remember, if you shop with me before midnight ET, you’ll give and get in one fell swoop: For every in-stock, price-listed item purchased for $800 or more, half of the retail price will be donated in your name to one of three organizations: the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, or International Relief Teams’ work in Puerto Rico.
Here are the terms one last time:
- To participate, type the name of the nonprofit you prefer into the “notes” section during checkout.
- The donation will be made in your name and include your contact information so you can receive confirmation from the organization you choose.
- If you don’t want your contact information shared with the organization, add the word “anonymous” to the notes section during checkout. The donation will still be made, but you won’t receive the confirmation.
- Exclusions include designs that are out of stock; those that are made to order or must be resized; those that are “price upon request”; and designs — like my gold safety pin earring — that already have a separate charitable component.
For example, if you’re ready to invest in a gala-worthy, future heirloom like my Cleves earrings, you will generate an astonishing $6,000 donation to one of the three nonprofits.
My Isabella wolf-fang earrings will fund a $2,500 donation to one of the organizations.
