Wednesday’s Video: Vintage Clothing FAQ, Part 3

June 28, 2017 by WendyB

Today’s YouTube video is the third in my FAQ series about vintage clothing. This one is for people who feel there’s an ick factor to buying from a store or site that specializes in secondhand clothing. Guess what? Not everything is necessarily used. You can often find unworn clothes at self-described vintage, thrift, or consignment retailers, both virtual and brick-and-mortar. Just look for clothes that are “new with tags” — often abbreviated to NWT online.

A good NWT find can be cause for gloating: Check out how excited I get when I talk about the Giambattista Valli jacket that I posted pictures of yesterday.

You know I had to take a picture of the tag!

I paid less than 10% of the tagged price, and — trust me — I’m going to be smiling about that every time I wear this crazy jacket.

If you missed the first and second FAQ videos, or want to watch them again, click here for links. And don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you don’t miss my Fourth of July video!

I loved seeing close-ups of the Valli jacket – what a cool texture that is! So much work involved. Great score on the price, Wendy! I don’t see too much NWT designer stuff here, but I love doing the research and finding out what year a piece came out, and what it retailed for originally. Another fun video, thanks, Wendy!

I used to have a lot of fun scouring eBay for NWT things when eBay was THE place to buy secondhand online. I don’t go there too often now!
