It’s my birthday today and I do declare that the vintage Jacques Tiffeau dress I wore to dinner at the Four Seasons tonight might be as old as I am. I haven’t owned it my whole life, of course. I bought it in 2009 — from eBay, I think.
In terms of the date of purchase, the dress was the newest thing I was wearing tonight. I got the boots a year before the dress, and my purse, not seen in the photo above, was from 2007. My coat won the longevity prize, because it’s from 1998. My next outfit should look a little fresher thanks to the gorgeous new Louis Vuitton purse that I got from MrB as a birthday gift. I haven’t done a “dog next to purse” photo in a couple of years, but, as you can see, Gigi hasn’t lost her touch.
Thanks also to Isabelle for the beautiful scarf!
In 2011, I spotted my dress’s doppelganger on Zooey Deschanel. Check it out here.
UPDATED TO ADD: And here’s what I can carry in my new purse — a customized flask sent by my sister! MrB was in charge of taking the photo of my Anne Boleyn-style portrait by Natasha Zupan to adorn the flask and he’s very proud of his work.
Hmmm … how will Champagne hold up in a flask, I wonder?
