I am pleased to see that Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, has had a baby boy, though I confess I was hoping for a little queen-to-be. Many of the designs in my signature jewelry line are inspired by queens and other royal wimmins. I don’t usually work with contemporary personalities, so I’m not sure a baby girl would have resulted in a jewelry design anyway, but you never know. After all, I do have a design in honor of this baby’s grandmother — the late Princess Diana.

UPDATED TO ADD: I’m jealous of the people who got to see Elizabeth drive into Buckingham Palace — accompanied by a dog — ahead of the birth. I was thrilled to be on the receiving end of a queenly drive-by last year.
UPDATED AGAIN TO ADD: Oh, and the baby was born on my 12th wedding anniversary with MrB! Good choice of date, princeling. Here’s a photo of MrB and I from last night, after our dinner with Zang. A picture of the anniversary-dinner outfit will come later this week.

He was here last year! As I recall, he didn’t do much to participate,so maybe that’s why you don’t remember!

I was hoping for a girl, too! They went to all that trouble to shake up the rules of succession – it would have been nice to see a girl firstborn. But at least they’re all healthy.
