If I Were Marie Antoinette …

November 28, 2012 by WendyB

… I’d wear this beautiful Dolce & Gabbana gown on casual Fridays at Versailles.

The sight of this stopped me in my tracks at Bergdorf Goodman.

Joan Rivers has a good line about the French queen that she uses when showing off her own apartment: “Marie Antoinette would have lived here … if she had money.”

I felt like all the other clothes on that floor should bow down and worship it. They are not worthy!

God It’s gorgeous! I went to Bergman Gooddorf or whatever it is on my only trip to New York and bought a dress and shoes to wear to a wedding. Halcyon days. It was so fancy I was almost too scared to. Antipodean bumpkin that I am.

The first time I walked into Bergdorfs (though I like your version of the name too! ha ha) I thought I was in heaven. I was still in college, couldn’t afford to buy anything of course!
