My Best Dressed at the SAG Awards: Rose Byrne

January 30, 2012 by WendyB

I started watching the red-carpet coverage of the Screen Actors Guild Awards yesterday, but nothing caught my eye, so I moved on. Too many of the same pale shades we saw at the Golden Globes for me. I did see actress Rose Byrne being interviewed, but close-up only, so I just gave her bangs the side-eye because I thought they looked costume-y. I didn’t see till later that she was wearing a daring jumpsuit and that the bangs were part of a whole Michelle-Pfeiffer-in-Scarface vibe. To me, costume-y is bad. An actual costume is awesome. Rose Byrne gets my Best Dressed/Wear What You Want combo award for the event. I’m sure she’s thrilled! Who needs a SAG Award when you can get a made-up award from me?

I was horrified that the female SAG attendees could look so bad with all the stylists, designers, jewelers, shoe designers, makeup artists…I felt like I was watching a bridal fashion show at one point.

But, Rose Byrne did look fantastic!

That’s EXACTLY what I thought. Loved her, loved the hair.

I agree she looks like Michelle P. in “Scarface,” but I also thought she looked dangerously like Anna Wintour, whose hair I’ve had enough of. I’m all for “stick with what works,” but AW seems to just stay the same all the time.

Made up awards are it. As anyone who’s been nominated for a TNMA Style Begins At Forty Award knows!

I actually like the look a lot but something just isn’t right and she doesn’t look like herself anymore? maybe that’s the costume part?

Rose B is such a dour, little barbie doll. Not loving the hair or the jumpsuit. It’s weird around the cross-over bit. She will never rise to the dizzying heights of Michelle P in Scarface. NEVER!
