2001 Hair Flashback

August 12, 2010 by WendyB

While looking for some old pictures of Gigi the dog, I found some good shots of my short 2001 hairdo, taken by my father, GeorgeB, on my birthday that year.

That necklace is not my design; this pre-dates my jewelry company.

I still have that Nordstrom sweater.

Here are some of my other past ‘dos:

  • The perm
  • The pixie
  • The ’80s
  • The Shelly Duvall

Now I wish I had seen this before yesterday’s hair appointment, you look darling. 🙂

I think it’s ADORABLE. And timeless. It doesn’t scream 2001 or anything. Very cute.

I love the evolution, and the picture of the lamp growing out of your noggin.

Love it…and what I love more is you’ve been rocking the red lippie for a long time. I love when you can see the development of a motif, even from early on!

I thought the 80s do was my favorite until the perm came up and punched me in the face. Werk!

Bwahahaha, the A.T.T.I.T.U.D.E in the 80s is awesome. And that perm deserved a 90s sitcom all of its own. How come you look good in every single style? The world just isn’t fair.

    • WendyB says

      August 12, 2010 at 1:42 pm

It’s all about my talented hairstylist, Keith Carpenter. I’ve been with him since the early ’90s.

What hairstyle? I can’t take my eyes of THAT NECKLACE!

    • WendyB says

      August 12, 2010 at 2:15 pm

Sorry to disappoint but I exchanged it for a bracelet days after this picture was taken. And a good thing too. The bracelet is gorgeous but a bit more generic and I can still wear it without feeling like I’m showing off another designer’s work. I would never wear the necklace now per this post http://wendybrandes.com/blog/2010/08/watch-me-wear-this-one/

    • WendyB says

Didn’t design it and no longer own it. The designer who did it is now out of business.

I love this coif! I had some flashbacks when I saw your 80s hair, though my trademark of the late 80s was permed with feathered bangs… so classy. I wish I had the chance to meet Fernando; he looks like such a fine swine!

I think the thing that really kicks this whole look into high gear is the fire engine red lipstick and matching nails. Tres chic!

Oh Wendy you’re such a cute thing! I think you’d look gorgeous even if you wore a potato sack and shaved your head. Of course you’d still be wearing your red lipstick…
