Zang in Bloom

May 19, 2009 by WendyB

My talented and charitable designer friend Zang Toi won the “Most Beautiful Headdress” award at Tulips & Pansies Headdress the Affair, the event I mentioned here. For the event, which raises money for Village Care of New York, fashion designers and florists team up to produce spectacular head pieces. Zang worked with Golf Srithamrong of Tantawan Bloom. The beautiful pink gown in these photos is by Zang, of course!

That’s Zang to the right of the model and Golf to his right.

There’s a nice back view of the gown at Harper’s Bazaar’s site, and a good article on the event here. Congrats, Zang! And I think all you fashion bloggers who are into feathery fascinators should consider upgrading to giant headdresses. They’re definitely the hot new look.

You could so pull that off. But, I think Zang should add a perch on it so one of your furry children could sit on top of your head.

Zang makes over the top look so elegant and the model makes it look so easy to balance it. I am sure it wasn’t so easy. The model might have even required a tylenol or two after the show.

That headdress is the most spectacular thing I’ve seen in a long time. I love the shape, and it’s very well-balanced. It’s perfect with the dress.

These are just so fun Miss Wendy, we are probably going to mention the preppy element of the evening in our next post! (Do you think people will be surprised by the ‘preppy participants’?)

BTW, Fashion Herald and I were chatting about you Monday night, discussing your amazing ability to comment in such a witty way on all of our blogs! We’re like a couple of little Miss Wendy groupies, you should have heard us!

    Smiles at you,
