Zang Toi Lunches With Housewives

September 9, 2008 by WendyB

Last week, designer Zang Toi invited me to a wonderful lunch and fashion show at his showroom. The guest of honor was … Jill Zarin, otherwise known as the redhead from The Real Housewives of New York. Seriously, y’all! Zang knows everyone from brides and grooms to Housewives.

Zang and Jill

I think other Housewives were there too, but I’ve never seen the show and don’t really know their faces. Anyway, Jill seemed to be the focus. She was working the room and talking up some healthy chocolate that she represents. I’m afraid I’m not going to be able to start eating that chocolate, however, because I already have an arduous schedule of Cadbury consumption. Sorry, Jill.

My daily Cadbury consumption

I managed to forget my camera. I know, right? Who goes to a fashion show without a camera? Luckily, my gorgeous, camera-carrying tablemate, Yilin Hsu, saved me from having to show you the craptastic photos I took with my phone. I asked Yilin to send me a photo — all I was hoping for was the one of her that I took with her camera, because I wanted you peeps to see her sex-ay Zang dress. But she went ahead and sent me a whole bunch of pictures: of the fashion show, Jill, Zang AND her sex-ay self. How nice is that?

Here is Yilin. See? Sex-ay!

Mariah Carey would totes love this butterfly dress.

Too bad I wasn’t wearing my Giant Butterfly Ring, because it would have been perfect for Yilin’s dress. It’s called a “Giant” Butterfly Ring because the butterfly part is 3″ at its widest point and 2 1/2″ high.

Anyway, here are some more photos from Yilin of Zang’s beautiful designs.

I heart humongous sleeves.

Gray really perks up a black dress. Who knew?

How to make a memorable exit.

That’s a hairdo, not a hat, on her head.

Ballerina ballgown.

Thanks again to Yilin for the photos. Thanks also to Zang for inviting me to this superfun event. One unexpected dividend was that I met a gorgeous lady named Cecilia, who has such a fascinating life story that I am going to interview her for this blog. Stay tuned! Also stay tuned for another Zang event that I’m going to this week.

Was that a pink butt bow I saw on the “Memorable Exit” dress?

    Yilin is a beautiful girl.

Oh, and by the way, that daily Cadbury consumption picture? ROOKIE LEVEL. I eat that much candy for breakfast.

Curly Wurly is my favorite. Just like the old Marathon bars.

” … an arduous schedule of Cadbury consumption.” If I weren’t such an old lady, I’d be actually rolling on the floor, and laughing out loud–until my sides ached. What a splendid picture those words impart, dear WendyB.

And I am thrilled with the progress of the auction.

ENC, the other day at around 9 AM I was wondering why I was so exhausted and thought, “It’s so strange I feel weak… I’ve eaten! Candy, but still.”
