The Pen Is Pinker Than the Sword

March 31, 2009 by WendyB

I’ve been brightening up the inside of my purse lately. In addition to my purple wallet, I have a red phone, a turquoise business-card holder and a green datebook. I also have a heart-shaped, light-blue keychain by Aspinal, which I got in an issue of Tatler last year. I love that British magazines sometimes include little gifts. Why don’t U.S. magazines ever give me presents? Well, Sports Illustrated used to have the football phone free with subscription, but it wasn’t very pretty.

It looks like a football but works like a regular phone!

Back to my purse upgrade: I’ve just added a pink Lilly Pulitzer pen from gorgeous blogger The Preppy Princess.

Delightful wrapping paper

Ta da!

A close-up of the pattern

It’s very easy to find everything now.

As you can see from my keychain, I go to New York Sports Club. I hate it when I see people waiting on line to use a treadmill. Don’t they ever think of changing up their workout and trying the empty elliptical machine or bike or Stairmaster? That shizz annoys me.

Ooh so colourful! The pen is the perfect complement to your other purse contents.

I don’t do gym lineups; actually, I don’t do gyms, period. Only salsa dancing. The boys can line up to dance with me.

I’m all for bright colours in the purse. I have a hot pink passport holder, a red leather wallet an ex boss gave me one year for Christmas (it had $400 in it!) and a purple leather case for odds and ends. My iPod case is green! Yes, I clash! And I love it!

I also love that when I’m up late working like this, you always seem to post an entry just to nicely distract me. ๐Ÿ™‚

It makes me feel the need to get organized. Most my purses are huge, I have little in them, and small things hide in corners.

Need to invest in some organizational things for purse stuff.

People like the dreadmill because they’re used to it. Changing their workout would mean . . . changing!

I love your rainbow of purse items. I’m especially enamored of that purple wallet. I wuv it. With a capital “W.”

Having a big black bag that I use most days I do feel like adding some colour would make it less necessary to pour out the entire contents of my bag to find something.

Ha! How fun! I’ve recently started doing the same thing, adding color to the purse system.

I particularly love the wallet! They’re all such bright springy colors.

What a wonderful rainbow of colors! Incidentally, I have challenged myself to back away from my favorite color, black, for one whole week. Today was the first day of my experiment. And the unintended side effect of this is that I really DO feel happier today. Coincidence?

Wendy, I tagged you to do a Purse Tag but this post kinda does do the trick, I guess. I also like colorful stuff in my bag because it really really helps me find things in the abyss.

Your various acoutrements are very springy, which means you are timely, as always.

Also I have come to appreciate floorwork and the rowing machine as lovely alternatives to getting my cardio on via the, ugh, dreadmill. Gotta mix it up sometimes.
