Trunk Show Tonight

November 19, 2008 by WendyB

I’m debuting some new jewelry at the trunk show tonight. One of my personal favorites is the Siobhan Ring. This ring was inspired by a story that my friend Siobhan (pronounced “shi-vawn,” not “cee-oh-bahn”) told me about her mother. Back in the day, Mum collected old gold wedding bands and wore all of them stacked together on every finger. I’ve always loved the look of stacking rings when they’re stacked, but I don’t care for how insignificant the rings look on their own. I also think it’s a drag to have to buy 10 rings to create a nice look; obviously I’m not as patient or creative as Siobhan’s mother. So! Here is the Siobhan Perma-Stacked Stacking Ring.

From the front, it looks like a stack of skinny rings.

Surprise! The rings are all attached at just one point in the back. You can still move each one independently; you just can’t separate (or lose) the little bands.

I enjoy showing this to people by holding the ring by just one band and allowing the others to swing down. Everyone jumps, expecting little rings to fly all over the place. My dream is to have four of these for myself to wear on four fingers of one hand. I’ve really been loving four rings on one hand ever since I started wearing the swear rings I did for Christian Francis Roth.

Oh, and don’t worry that I’m not giving Siobhan’s mother her due. Before I did the Siobhan Ring, I did a silver Perma-Stacked Stacking Ring and named that one Evelina in honor of Mum. This one is all one piece. No swinging action. Evelina’s not that type of lady!

TO MY REGULAR COMMENTERS: I am enjoying your comments as always. They make my day! So please forgive me for not responding to them here or on your blogs for a day or so, while I deal with my event. Oh, and try not to post too much so I don’t fall behind in my reading!

The Siobhan rings are my favorite rings in your collection. I love the idea that they hinge togethter. That’s very clever. All the different stones and textures make for lots of interest and variety.

Good luck with your Pink Elephant and your pink champagne tonight, Wendy! I just know the event will be a smash.

Alya, I will ship internationally, but don’t try to do it on the website, just email me at wbjewelry at hotmail dot com.

These rings are beautiful. I used to be a stacked ring wearer, having many rings on each finger…but I’ve got lazy with age. This would solve that problem nicely!!

    Greetings Wendy,

Life has a strange way of connecting me with people whose stories encourage and inspire to live my dreams. I work at the office with your mom (she’s an amazing individual). I just left her office feeling so inspired after she told me a little bit about the path led you to become an entrepreneur.

Because of what she told me, I am even more convinced that anything and everything is possible once we put our minds to it.

Your work is OUTSTANDING! I do look forward to the day when I can purchase some of your jewelry. It seems the kind of stuff that you’d want to pass on to future generations.

I really hope that I will have the pleasure of meeting you one day.

I love these rings. They remind me of the puzzle rings that my parents had. I used to spend hours assembling those.

Another lovely ring.. Wendy have you ever seen those Victorian bracelet rings? They look a bit similar but the rings expand into a bracelet..

Seriously, stunning. The Siobhan Perma-Stacked Stacking Ring is simply beautiful. Would you ever consider doing it in silver one day……

  35. WendyB says

    November 20, 2008 at 10:50 am

Alice, I would do it in silver but it might be too expensive. To do all that labor of making the individual rings, engraving them, polishing etc….I am not sure if it would be worth it, but if you ever want to know, I’ll check the price!

  38. WendyB says

Thanks, PB. I don’t think I would have felt so bad about the dentist if it wasn’t the day after my trunk show. After spending all night bending over backwards to make my customers happy — as I always do — to have this little run-in with someone who obviously doesn’t value our 10-year doctor-patient relationship really got to me.

Thank you for stopping by our blog, Wendy! 🙂 And for the cool comment about the wellies too.

I am crazy about the Siobhan ring! Does it come in silver but with the little bits of gems like the gold one?

I will be checking back here often. I love rings and bangles…there’s just something about well-thought out jewellery that I can’t resist!

    Love,
    Hui
