Old Yeller

November 17, 2008 by WendyB

Before you vote on a J.Crew corduroy color for me in my poll on the right, keep in mind that not only do I have this citron skirt, but I also have this one.

I think the above skirt can safely be described as a “vintage” Versace, if we define vintage as “that skirt length was perfect for me when I got it but might no longer be appropriate on a woman my age.”

Are you kidding? That skirt is perfect for you. And I think, if citron works, make it your new neutral.

It is appropriate for a woman your age who gets carded with great frequency.

Don’t worry–just put on a pair of opaque tights and go!

Hi there-I agree with Miss Cavendish, shorter length skirts are ideal with tights, this is how I’ll wear them too!

With your legs, you are OBLIGATED to continue wearing that skirt. Regardless of color. don’t forget how you looked in the Important Satellite Cape.

I voted for Sweet Potato, and I’m sticking with my candidate. Regardless of color.

I voted aubergine, but that’s only because there wasn’t an option for those of us incapable of making decisions…that option would read, “What the hell, buy one in every color and repent later…or don’t repent at all!”

WB — if you are too old to wear short ?? then that makes me too old plus 10 years…

PLUS… with your legs / looks / body.. you can wear short for another 10 after me.. so the way I look at it.. that skirt has 20 more good years in it..

I love that color.. I call it catepillar guts green — and I have a bunch of stuff that color too…

I voted persimmon on the pants.. they will stop traffic!! xxoxo

See you at your ELEPHANT TRUNK SHOW..

Please do not think me gauche when I say, with the utmost conviction, that if that skirt is the perfect length for anyone it is you.

Judging from the other comments – people want to see your gams. Why deny your adoring public?

    Sincerely,

    Possibly creepy blog commenter

Oh pish posh, “appropriate on a woman my age”?! You get carded all the time! I think it’d look great on you.

Aubergine if you can continue to spell it, sweet potato in all other circumstances. Oh my!

I am having the same issue. Cute clothes in the closet, abit too young to still wear. I have a skirt about this length in a brown tweed with leather accents. I love it. It seems to young for me now. sigh.

I still get carded, but not nearly as often. Maybe it’s a sign.
