Vintage Butt Bow, Plus Jackets

October 19, 2008 by WendyB

This vintage butt-bow dress is beautiful, isn’t it?

’60s gown
$325 at Maire McLeod

Speaking of bows, the New York Observer jumped on my bow bandwagon with this story.

And speaking of bandwagons, you bloggers were months ahead of the designers and fashion media with your interest in band/military-style jackets. Bravo! Balmain is copying YOU! Here are some eBay options for those of you still looking for a jacket. Click the photos to go to the auction and don’t forget to snipe.

i like the detail in the back but is it a crime to shorten the skirt length? : )

Ooh, SG, I think it would be. You’d lose the affect of the ribbon flowing down from the bow. That would be sad!

    Gorgeous dress!
And military jackets never go out of fashion for me, they are so flattering.I feel so sorry for my bf, he is looking for one for himself, but can’t find one! And everytime he goes into a girl’s shop with me there are loads.I tell him he should get a girls one in a large size but he refuses

I’m still cursing the fact that I threw out my military jacket after I grew out of the 2001-02 hipster fad led by The Strokes. Bummer. 🙁 These ones look awesome though!

I agree with you on bloggers being in front of the runway fashion. Totally.
I think actual muses are found on street or in ‘what I wear today’ blogs… not from the entertainment industry.

I wish I had a picture of my black taffeta and velvet butt bow dress that I wore to Junior prom. Not as pretty as the vintage one pictured.
