Regrets, I Have a Few

September 21, 2008 by WendyB

I’ve always been sorry I didn’t buy this Jean Muir leather dress with pansy belt from Vintage-a-Peel for 245 pounds last year.

Now I’m even sorrier, because here’s the same dress at Posh Vintage … priced at $4,425.

It’s gorgeous…but Jebus, the price went up so much! Do you think you can persuade them to lower it, what with the credit crunch and all? 😉

There is a vintage dress I wanted to buy from a boutique a couple years ago. I wanted to haggle for the price but the owner’s teen daughter was watching the shop and wouldn’t play along. When I came back later the dress was gone and I still kick myself. It was an amazing maxi sundress with a large print of pretty blue girls–I can’t possibly explain how unique and gorgeous it was… :'(

Oh my-I don’t know about this-did Ms Peelpants undersell her lovely dress, or has Posh Vintage gone OTT with their pricing? I remember seeing this too, it is a lovely dress, but not for $4425
    for me 🙁

That’s the problem with shopping.. I can’t always buy everything I want but then you get this type of thing.. dang.

Holy Cow, I can’t believe how high that price jumped. However, what goes up must come down. Maybe it’ll drop and you can get it in a couple of months.

P.S. Aren’t fashion regrets the worst? I once passed up a Donna Karan ball gown at the outlets in Clinton, CT about 10 years ago for $299 and I am still kicking myself!

    Oh Miss Wendy!

My goodness, we’re so pleased you popped by the blog! We have invested the last 20 minutes reading some of your the previous posts on your blog and then cruising over to gaze in amazement at your jewelry site.

(Sorry for the delay there, I had to grab for my hankie lest some drool inadvertently make a complete mess of things here.)

Your jewelry designs are simply beautiful. Lush, luscious, absolutely wonderful. We shall have to sell quite a few placemats in order to acquire the Sophie Twisting Heart Locket, but that would be one of our favorite pieces upon being introduced to your work. And goals are good things for the Princess, they inspire action.

Thank you again, your blog and your website are new treasures!

Egads! If it makes you feel any better, I regret not buying a black super-heavy sequined cardigan (the sequins were in rectangles of red, blue, green, and yellow, not black) and a bubblegum-pink leather skirt at my local thrift store a few months ago for $22 and about $25, respectively.

Just back from my holiday. Yes, it is the same dress. Frankly I’m astonished at that price tag but if she can find a customer willing to pay it – then good on her! That’s just the vintage food chain for you.

Sometimes I wonder if my prices are too high….then I take a toddle around other websites (those in a similar genre to me) and realise I’m undervaluing most of the time – even taking conversions into account! I feel a blog coming on, thanks for the subject inspiration!! 😉
