Oh Bondage Up Yours!

July 7, 2008 by WendyB

I’m tempted by this denim bondage skirt by Warhol Factory X Levis. It’s on sale at Barneys for $139, down from $200. It’s tricky to link to so just go to barneys.com and search for “bondage skirt.”

“Oh Bondage Up Yours!” is my favorite song by 1970s British punk band X-Ray Spex.

Poly Styrene, X-Ray Spex’s lead singer, performing at CBGBs

UPDATED ON JULY 21 TO ADD: Now $69!

Every time I listen to X-Ray Spex, they’re about 75% as good as I remember them.

Oh I love that skirt! I think you should get it, though I find pencil skirts a challenge to walk in, especially when accompanied by 3-4 inch heels.

FH, I fixed the link. I don’t know why that link hops around from item to item, no matter how I tried to save it! Bastards!

Ah — I am loving that bondage skirt but $139 seriously? You could so go to Hot Topic or some similar place and get one from “Lip Service” for like $39 and it would be just as cool!

When all else fails, check eBay…I’m sure there are bondage skirts on there for less….have fun!

I really like the look of that skirt. It’d be great on you. Would you constantly fiddle with the strappy bits?

Oh, Ms B, we share too many favourite songs…I think it’s now going to take us more than one evening at the karaoke to properly go down memory lane.

    OMG! The X-Ray Spex!!!!

When I was 21, I had my boyfriend hunt down a copy of that album and stick it on tape for me! He had to hang out with a guy who was hitting on him all night to get it since he wanted to “appease” me because the boyfriend backed out of going to a concert with me. It was out of print even in 1993.

The boyfriend is long gone but I still own this album copied to tape. It hide it, grade it, and treasure it.
