More Latex Leggings (and Coats)

September 8, 2007 by WendyB

These cropped leggings are 15 pounds on Asos.com. There’s more shine to be found at TV, though that website is hard to browse. For all my latex posts, click here. If you’ve tried the latex look and you’re not listed, let me know so I can link to you! And if you really can’t get enough, check out The Rubber Betty Blog, which is dedicated to rubber and latex. (Sadly, it appears the Kova & T latex leggings everyone is looking for are no longer online, but there’s a phone number to call here.)

While a shiny coat is more expensive than leggings, no doubt you’ll get more wear out of it over many years. The right person could really rock this butterscotch-colored vintage Gucci PVC raincoat from the 1970s (I’d like to see it on Jennine of the Coveted).

It’s available at Retrodress for $290.

This Tahari coat is beautiful. It’s much more expensive too: $1400. On the other hand, it’s real patent leather, not PVC. If you were to invest in it, you’d have it for a long, long time.

It’s available at elietahari.com. Other shiny coat options include Michael Kors, Topshop and fetish site Shiny.co.uk (not for children or uptight people). And if you’re in New York, you should browse the shops on St. Marks Place. I think Trash & Vaudeville would be a good bet.

wow girls look awesome when they where leggings. Everyone should just go for it and throw some on. I just hate when girls wear them under denim skirts. 🙂

i agree.. i am an admirer of girls who can pull of the latex look more than i am the person who would try to do it myself. they always look so fabulous on fashionistas!

The latex leggings at Syren.com are more expensive, but you can custom order….and if you want, you can even get transparent latex, baby blue, pearlized purple or whatever color moves you. — Very fetishy and fun for those who are brave enough. I picked up a Hallowe’en outfit from Syren a few years back, and I was unusually popular that evening. Unfortunately, latex is a look that takes some elbow grease to keep shiny.

Ooh, thanks for the hot tip, Jane! But as I recall, you’re always popular wherever you go! 🙂

I really like the coats..latex leggings are a tad to daring for me though. Plus they look kind of hot and uncomfortable no?

Just a quick question. Do you think latex the whole shiny look is a classic or is it that were in love with it purely because its so in the moment?

Because i love the look of that coat, but i don’t know if i would love it a few years down the track…i’m confused

I think patent leather is a classic look. The leggings aren’t, but I’ve had shoes and purses in patent for 10+ years. I think a coat would be even easier to wear and more eyecatching when everyone else moves on from patent. That’s when it really pays off to have something special.
