Go Ahead. Be a Big Girl’s Blouse.

September 4, 2007 by WendyB

Designer Anne Fontaine in her own blouse, via Factio

Once in a while I walk by Anne Fontaine’s store on Madison Avenue and feel tempted to go inside. The French designer specializes in white and black blouses. Generally, I don’t like how I look in a button-down top but some of the pieces are pretty different from the traditional blouse look. And even the blousier ones are gorgeous. Check out the annoyingly Flash-heavy website here to see the latest collection.

Gorgeous blouse! I love a white top, but the detail on this one…amazing.

I love ruffles! They look ridiculous on me, but that shirt is lovely…

i really like the designs on her website. Reminds me of a nicer version of the designer collaboration with Gap a few months ago. She makes beautiful shirts and some nice jackets as well.

I am a huge fan of AF and have several of her tops. My one misstep was a blouse that had rosettes around the neckline that I thought looked amazing on me until my huband informed me that to the contrary, it looked as if a box of kleenex had exploded on my chest. (He is nothing if not candid, that husband of mine.)
BEWARE AF’s return policy: STORE CREDIT ONLY and….they print an EXPIRATION DATE on the credit slip!
