Gorgeous clients and would-be clients often ask me if I do custom work. My standard reply is, “If you can describe it and pay for it, I will do it.”* Is your style more traditional than mine? More modern? Less edgy? More edgy? Doesn’t matter. But it can be hard for people to imagine all the possibilities, so here’s an example. Lovely candy-expert Isabelle wanted to give her husband, Scott, cufflinks in honor of their two cute pooches: Berkeley, a Jack Russell terrier, and Bruno, a boxer.
Here are the cufflinks.

Voila!
Is that a good resemblance or what? The dogs are carved out of jasper with painted rock crystal eyes, and set in 18K yellow gold. I envision them adding a whimsical touch to an otherwise straight-laced tuxedo on a black-tie night. A total conversation piece, and lucky, too, because I got them to Isabelle right on time for Christmas despite various flu-related delays in the manufacturing process. Happy holidays to Isabelle, Scott, Berkeley and Bruno! And any of you readers who are dreaming of your own custom jewelry should holla at me at wbjewelry at hotmail dot com. You’d be barking mad not to do it.
*It also has to be humanly possible and legal, but you knew that, right?

OMG. These are awesome. Your designs just keep getting better and better! One day, I’d love it if you did a post on your “process” – like how a piece of jewelry comes to be. Not giving out any trade secrets, of course 🙂
