Ass Flowers Are the New Butt Bow

February 24, 2009 by WendyB

I loved handsome blogger Dale‘s comment on my last post, referring to the Zang Toi dress that I wore to an Oscar party: “Awesome, why do I never get invited? Next time, it’s flowers on my ass and I’m a shoo-in!” Meanwhile, my gorgeous friend Jane, who was at the party, wondered, “Were the flowers way down on the back of your dress your response to the ‘butt bow‘!?!” These remarks made me realize that ass flowers are, indeed, the new butt bow. I don’t mean that butt bows are going out of style — how could they? — but if a butt bow is unavailable when urgently needed, you may substitute ass flowers.

The ass flowers in action

Separately, thanks to gorgeous blogger Jennine of The Coveted for the wonderful post she wrote about me after coming over to check out my jewelry designs. As a bonus, she managed to take the only good photo I’ve ever had of one of my favorite Ossie Clark dresses, previously barely seen here. I’ve always admired Jennine’s photography skills.

Jennine is doing London Fashion Week now, so stay tuned to The Coveted for more great pictures.

UPDATED TO ADD: My vintage-loving and -selling friend Cherie of Shrimpton Couture got so excited about Jennine’s photos of my Ossie that she gave me the star treatment on her blog. She also has a number of Ossies for sale. If you buy one, maybe you will get the star treatment too. Go shopping here.

UPDATED AGAIN TO ADD: Here’s a picture from the party of me with Jane, who, as I mentioned above, gets credit for the ass flower/butt bow connection. Jane was wearing a fabulous ’20s-style frock. The long necklace is perfect for that look.

    Always the trendsetter, WendyB. I’m glad to hear that ass flowers are merely a hot, new look and not supplanting the butt bow. That would be tragic.

    Now that I read this post, I wonder how in heck I could have missed the opportunity to refer to your @ss flowers as . . . .

    @ss-tors.

    HAHAHAHAHAHA!

    Wait, I think it’s @ss-ters.

    I think it is more impressive to grow flowers out of your @ss than it is to have bows coming out your butt. Just one gals opinion.
