If you’re looking for a movie to see this weekend, check out Hustlers. It’s based on the true story of ex-strippers who started drugging men and maxing out their credit cards. Definitely not behavior I encourage, but it made for a great film. Here’s the original, fascinating article by Jessica Pressler — maybe read it after you see the movie.
You may have heard of this movie because of Jennifer Lopez’s spectacular first scene, which is a pole dance to Fiona Apple’s “Criminal.” It has to be seen to be believed. J. Lo is 50 — a year and a half younger than I am, but I didn’t have a body like this at any age! Check out her behind-the-scenes training video.
Lopez’s whole performance is on point though. Take it from MrB.

Since seeing the movie, I’ve been brooding about the fact that a fantastic J. Lo interview clip from 2006 had long ago disappeared from YouTube. I swear, I have never stopped thinking about J. Lo’s reaction when she was asked to “defend her outfit.” I’ve been like, “How can this iconic ‘Wear What You Want’ moment simply vanish from teh Interwebs?” Well, friends, I JUST FOUND THE CLIP on MTV’s website. Enjoy it, memorize it, fucking live it!
If you see (or have already seen) Hustlers, tell me what you think in the comments!
